PSX-SCENE Forum Discussion for Sony PlayStation/PsOne/PS2/PS3/PSP/PS VITA
  • Follow Up Interview with Elle. Co-Winner of the PSX-Scene October Contest

We have heard from deroad and Nathan_r32_69 who were co-winners of the PSX-Scene Monthly Contest for October. Today we get some insight from Elle who is the third co-winner for October.

What inspired you to work on the How to get on PSN with Rogero 4.21CFW?

Well with the release of the new custom firmware's and keys the scene was more than happy although for me it was missing one more thing "PSN access". Although most users and myself have learned to get a second system for online use i wanted to have it on our new cfw to sync trophies collected etc, so i took to it and started working.

How much time was put into this project. Did you receive a lot of requests from users to create this or was this something that you were working on for your own use?

I spent a couple of hours to finally end up where i was with PSN access, this was something i took upon myself to do but i know now that a lot of other scene users where very happy with what i achieved also.

Did you follow the contest closely during the month and keep track of the comments and votes? What type of feedback did you receive from members regarding your submission?

I didn't follow up on the contest that much to be honest although i did keep track of the comments, and try to help with any problems users came across. The feedback i received in comments and private messages was more than enough to satisfy me. Thank you Psx-Scene Community

Over the last few weeks there have been a ton of leaks and new releases. What do you think this means for the PS3 scene in the future?

With all the new leaks i am very excited for the coming months, I'm almost certain that we will see huge improvements for the PS3 scene. We all just need to remember the few days after Geohot unlocked our PS3's and the massive amount of development we had, i sure hope to see the community like that once more, but i hope with all the DRM companies trying to make a quick buck from the hard work of our developers this doesn't deter them from releasing their work and liberating our hardware's. The end result i would love to see for the scene is to be able to free all consoles so that the user has a choice if they want to install a custom firmware and be able to do so without the need for extra hardware, eg. higher firmware or newer model console.

Do you have any other projects in the works that we can look forward to in the future?

Maybe, it's still early yet but im working with a friend on a blu-ray mod that may or may not be useful, as i say still early yet.

Thanks to Elle for taking the time to speak with us and congratulations again to Nathan_r32_69, deroad and Elle for their win in the October PSX-Scene contest.
