First Look - N64 Emulator Alpha Version on PS3

An exciting new emulator project surfaced today. A team of three guys has taken on the challenge of porting a Nintendo 64 emulator to the PS3. The project seems to have been underway for some time, as progress is quite far. The team has released three videos showcasing that the emulator is in playable form but still needs some work. Currently the emulator is 1 player only via keyboard, graphics work excellent for most games tried, and the emu has no audio support. The team has made no indications on when a release will occur, but it doesn't seem too far off.

We are a team of 3 guys who have been working on a Nintendo 64 emulator for quite some time now, and we have decided to go out with the news since now our N64 emulator is officially working on the PS3.

We still have a huge load of things to work on, but it's playable and N64 is finally working on the PS3.

What we have done so far:

* 1 player (keyboard only)
* We have succeeded to enable gameshark codes
* Graphics works excellent on most games we have tried; Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Ridge Racer 64, Diddy Kong Racer, Mario Kart 64, Banjo Kazooie and 1080 Snowboard.
* Games we have tried that are jerky (so far): Duke Nukem 64, Doom 64, Hexen 64 and WCW Smackdown 64.

Issues (we are working on):

* Audio is not working yet.
* A user interface and the ability to edit and change files such as controller settings, cheat codes, etc. (We do all this over FTP now).
* Game menu (we now have to upload one game at the time).
* PS3 controller, (we now have to use a USB keyboard).
* Multiplayer.

We have decided to use ps3news and youtube to communicate with you guys, and if you want to help us out, feel free to either email us at n64onps3@gmail.com or PM us on youtube.

We will upload videos for every new feature or issue we fix, so please subscribe to us on youtube. We want to keep you guys updated so you can follow our process.

And we will of course update you here as well since this is the official ps3 news website for hackers. Please share the video and all that stuff.

AWESOME. I saw this on another sites member news and it didn't make the headlines cause the mods there thought it was a hoax, but it was an older post with them claiming they were aiming for 100% compatibility and saying that none of them had any experience. Nice to see them get it off the floor though. I wasn't expecting the news this fast either.

I hate people who call fake on everything but there is absolutely no reason those videos should be so shitty. Looks incredibly sketchy to me.

too right man! to get a n64 emu on a ps3 working omg omg omg..if i had the talents of a dev which i dont i would for sure get my hands on a high-def cam for a world announcement,

i would even phone up me mum to hold the cam - phone up LOL

though i cant say i WONT pirate the 2 Zelda games we all know & love i can say i wont NOT enjoy playing them for the 76 (Actual) time and take months to beat

I hate to say this but I am going to say its a fake... I just watched all the videos. They always jump away from the screen on the load and there is a audible noise always at that point, which I believe is a laugh but the guy always cuts that part of the video and seams the other half in, which is probably when he just connects his n64 or pc, or switches video input.
