    Another firmware app comes to us today, this time by Ifcaro, called PUPView. "PUPView is a GUI application used to view and extract the contents of the PUP update files for the Playstation 3. At the moment it will only permit you to extract, but I also have plans to simplify the creation of new PUP files thanks to the new keys released."

    PUPView es una aplicacion grafica similar a esta para ver y extraer el contenido de los archivos de actualizacion de firmware de la PlayStation 3. Por el momento solo permite extraer pero hay planes de habilitar tambien la creacion de nuevos pup gracias a las claves que han salido
    Translation:

      add signed backup manager in there, done deal

      I don't think that would work because even if its signed and installed to a official 3.55/3.50 firmware, syscalls aren't active in the firmware so it won't work anyway.

      Someone correct me if i am wrong, but this is how i understand it??

      I dont care about running a backup loader. i just want to install .pkg on my 3.55 slim and possibly run linux

      yup thats the same thing i whant jailbrake my ps3 on 3.55 and play back ups

      Thats correct they would need to be added in.

      You can already play Black Ops on a 3.55 console? Unless you mean a backed up copy of it? Then no, you can not as of yet.

      Thanks, But is their going to be a way to install package files on 3.55

      Your guess is as good as mine. As i have said elsewhere, no one knows what is going to happen. But from what i hear, all current PS3 firmwares are hackable, so its just a matter of time until some genius works it out. Could be a day, could be a month. But because 3.55 was created purely as a security fix, i assume it may require some more complicated methods to jailbreak, at least at first.
