Thanks to NODRM with the 1.06 patches for CFW users this is now playable for everyone on 3.55 CFW or DEX

Anybody that knows me knows I've been waiting a long time for this. Today every DLC for the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIII-2 has been fixed for DEX convverted consoles. It is compatible with every region of the game. The reason it's DEX only right now is the DLC requires the 1.06 update. Don't fear CEX/CFW users, NODRM recently reported they'll have the CFW fixed update soon

From The Readme

tested works on Dex 4.20 with FFIII-2 1.06 patches.

How to use other region dlc
rename 2 file name to that region and copy fixed identifier.edat

ASIA DLC file name
filelist_p0000012img_c.ps3.bin
white_p0000012img_c.ps3.bin

USA DLC file name
filelist_p0000012img_u.ps3.bin
white_p0000012img_u.ps3.bin

EUR DLC file name
filelist_p0000012img_e.ps3.bin
white_p0000012img_e.ps3.bin

JAP DLC file name
filelist_p0000012img_j.ps3.bin

please stay on topic, if you have questions about another game try searching the forums first or start a new thread.

nadheeh: the NFO file can be opened with notepad, it's not used for anything other than containing information about the files it came with.

Because you either haven't installed the DLC (you've only installed the fix) or if you're using the BLES version you didn't move the BLUS DLC to the right folder in dev_hdd0/game/BLES*****/USRDIR

I do . I got the EUR version . Followed the instructions posten on ******.com
Installed the 1.06 patch.
Installed the DLC files.
Manually do the DLC fix procedure by copying and renaming a BUUUUUNCH of directories .
I did fine but .

When I tried to play FF13-2 , this comes up

""You cannot play this game at the current video output setting"80028f10"

I was like what !? I'm using HDMI cable , manually checks all resolution , downscaled to 1080i , 720p and the lowest one, unplugged and plugged HDMI with still no avail.
And the fact that I was just playing it earlier ?

I need to muster any kind of advise now.

Going to go out and study now . I wish when I come back , there will be new comments .

Probably what happened is the BLES NODRM patch didn't enable all resolutions. Sounds like your tv doesn't support 576. Edit the PARAM.SFO for the update folder to support all video formats. You'll have to manually set your PS3 to temporarily support 576 and launch the game so the database is updated. You'll get funky video on the first launch. Exit to the xmb, restore your display settings and boot the game again and it should be fixed

Or you could avoid all that and rebuild the pkg with a fixed PARAM.SFO that supports your NTSC TV

I do have a PARAM.SFO file that comes with the DLC FIX Package :
- A folder that contains all of the numbered folders and ,
- And a PARAM.SFO

I didn't move the .sfo file . That might be it ?

Ill try it when I get home.

BahumatLord : i had 2 tb version (BCAS20224 & BLES01269). Both didn't have backups of untouched files. Can i install the DLC on kmeaw?

am still stuck..didnt find anywhere to download the dlc plus dlc fix too..and also, frm wat i heard so far, the nodrm patches need to be replaced in a particular way..nt jst replacing the eboot n the sfo files..and am on the BLUS version..anyhelp wud b appreciated

I just copied my PARAM.SFO that comes with the DLC Fix package I didnt copy it the first time so now I think that error on Video reso.
That fixed it and it doesnt appear anymore . But NOW when I start the game a new error come up . Its "An error occurred during the start operation (80028F14)"
And a thought came back to me . On the guide at p-s-3-i-s-o dot com , I know you were there too there is someone who said if you have played the game before remove the eboot bin and 4 sprx . and I did and do the next instructions . So currently there is no EBOOT or SPRX there . Is there any specific eboot or sprx to move there ?

Well. I select the game from Multiman then when it brings me back to the main menu when I select the game under the app_home/PS3_game to launch the game is when I get the "You cannot play this game at the current video output setting (80028F10)"

Additionally the game disc icon has also changed. Before entering multiman the ps3 disc was labeled "Final Fantasy XIII-2", however after multiman it has changed to "Unsupported Data"

you applied the patch wrong. Sounds like you put the 1.06 update files in your game backup instead of dev_hdd0/game/**GAMEID**/USRDIR to the right place

replace the PARAM.SFO, EBOOT, and all sprx files in your game backup with the original ones and install the 1.06 update for your version of the game. NODRM replacement files are for the update - not the backup

Funny thing is happening, I can play the game without updates on v3.41 firmware, but if I install the game update and then replace the updated files with the Final.Fantasy.XIII2.EBOOT.PATCH.106.EUR.PS3-N0DRM files in the game directory, I get the must upgrade firmware to 3.70 message. I am using the PAL version of the game, and boy do I feel noobish asking why this update firmware message is occurring? Do I need to update to Firmware 3.55?
/dev_hdd0/game/BLES01269/USRDIR and for PARAM.SFO in /dev_hdd0/game/BLES01269/.

you need to either install a version spoofer or use psn_package_npdrm.exe to rebuild the latest update with the fixed files. Just copying/ftp'ing the files doesn't update the database that stores all the info from the params for all the PSN games and updates that you installed. Yes, the fixed one has the right version for you to play but your PS3 checks the database first. You would have to get a successful launch for the database to be updated
