    As you all know, we have reported earlier about the DUPLEX team releasing a full leak of the official 3.40 SDK. What is an SDK? An SDK is a software development kit that is used by a programmer to develop programs for a certain machine in this case the PS3. It has now come to our attention that via USENET, and by a developer called JoHNAaRON there has been a full 3.60 SDK leak. What does this mean for the end user? It now means that we may get access to those public/private keys, and apploader keys that we so desire to play the newer games that will be coming out that require firmware higher than 3.55. Let me remind you that this is just how it started out when firmware 3.55 first came and certain games like GT5 were unplayable.

      Nice for those with test/debug units. This can lead to the release of many keys. NPDRM anyone? Also has the special 3.55 downgrade pup for test units. (Which I have a link too)

      It's a 4.9GB download.

      Yes, but who is gonna do anything with it? The "scene" is running scared of $ony lawsuits and some are (reportedly) running straight into the arms of $ony itself. Personally, I can't see it making a blind bit of difference.

      So people can use this to inspect games etc, and might find the 3.60 keys. But then sony could change it again with a new firmware update right? Since "we" didnt find a way to obtain them, changing them would screw us again right? Or am i completely wrong?

At least all new games will work if the keys are released anon. And with the possible downgrade options been figured out it should be easier for the devs to adapt the downgrade for other firmwares. Not to mention that those who have purchased PSN content could be able to use them again.

      Um, I fail to see how a mere SDK can lead to new public keys. Am I missing something?

      3.60? xDDDD who gives a **** about 3.60? games are coming with 3.66 update and when the big ones gets released on novemeber surely they will come with 3.70. Nobody gives a **** about 3.60, if they want to leak something useful, leak the 3.70 sdk, not the older one!!

      at least he gave something that no one else did before, it's better than the average user in here, which give nothing and just complain ;p

      hahahaha.... mega4000 , if they get the 3.60 keys, the future fw cant stop this , its all about the mtldr. read in the forum to learn. Cant this been use to sign pkg for 3.60 ? I hope so.

      No - you are not missing anything. Everyone else is :S

      SDK = Software Developers Kit

      It is not some sort of magic tool that just spews keys or whatever else you want.

      As far as the 'piracy/backup' scene is concerned this does not change anything.

      For the 'homebrew' scene; it could be great - there are a tone of documents to read up on + pretty much all the tools you could ask for!

      Non-licensed devs can use the SDK to create homebrew - no more, no less.

      AFAIK the keys are the same from 3.60 going onwards, sony dint have a reason to change them each new firmware as the system was secured once again, so any new key is great news.

      Don't you all remember LA Noire? The game was released signed for 3.60. However, we could play it on 3.55. Why? Because Sony didn't distribute SDKs to developers right away, fearing leaks, so Rockstar/Team Bondi was working with the 3.55 SDK, thus they had no choice but to sign the patch for 3.55. Thay way, the new eboot.bin of the game could be decrypted by 3.55 and we could play it.

      This SDK could very well help us decrypt and play 3.60 games on 3.55
