ErmaC 4.30 CFW v1.3 Available & Updated

For those who have taken the leap to custom firmware above 3.55 might want to take a look at this. Dubbed the next Kmeaw of 4.30 CFW, or 4.21 with 4.30 spoofs, this custom firmware might be the next gen of firmware with the most game compatibility. Well that is what most comments via the sources below suggest. Even with the previous statements this firmware is not without bugs. Such bugs include the elusive XMB grouping bug. I bring this info to you without actually testing it myself. So those avid psx-scene members that are willing to give us some feedback would be appreciated. Mod on! Game on! and advance!

About ErmaC 4.30 CFW v1.3:

More Stable than any other 4.30 CFW out there (Tested with numerous PS3, slim and phat models)
Can run games with the latest updates signed with Keys up to 4.30 without any patching needed
PSN enabled
Cinavia protection disabled
No "Demo Mode", XMB fully optimized so you can have the best performance with your console

Changes since 1.2:

"Demo Mode" is now completely fixed, no more demo/kiosk fw messages*
Some more small bugs fixed, XMB is now fully optimized (XMB is faster than ever before, in-game or not) so you can now have the best performance with your PS3
A few cosmetic changes

*If you still want to use PSHome please install 'PSHome_ErmaC_4.30_CFW.pkg' included in the package

This CFW will not brick your PS3 System or Harddrive if you install it properly. Use it with caution, the author of this CFW will not be held responsible for any damage that may be caused to your system.

You need to be on 3.55 ofw or cfw to install ErmaC CFW. Please downgrade using the proper procedures (999 downgrader from Rebug team is the best option) and after downgrading please install and run 'toggle_qa.pkg' on your PS3 before upgrading again to the new version.

Use exactly the same precautions on upgrading/downgrading used on other CFWs to avoid any complication. Enjoy!

From everything I have read yes you should go back to 3.55 OFW before updating.....Rogero says going from TB to his 4.x will brick and all these CFW other than Rebug appear to be based on the same core release. Its not that big of a deal so error on the side of caution and don't get a brick. I would remove dongle, go back to OFW 3.55 from Recovery then go to either 3.55 CFW (like KMW or Rogero), install qatoggle and check the button sequence and then go to any 4.x thru recovery. This appears to be the SAFEST method and what I have followed myself on 2 phats one with KMW and one with TBv2.

Also the TB eboots are a bitch because of the DRM. So the best route to go is sign up on ps3scenefiles.net which is a great resource for eboots/patches/firms ect. They have direct downloads (no pesky HTML dowloader shit) and post MD5 checksums for their packages. What I have done that has worked is download the 3.55 no DRM eboots for the game, replace the TB eboot and then use MM and download the $sony patch, install the $ony patch and then it will run on 4.x. In all cases I have tried, even the 3.55 nodrm eboots for games that have no update have worked in CFW 4.x. Trust me this has been a pain as I had a lot of games, but you only have to do it one time and you will be done and set for all future firmware updates....hope this info helps

Hrmmm...I def agree that the more options we have the better, but honestly, I'm failing to see what I gain using this rather than rogero. Also, for me, reputation plays a role here. I'd rather use something by someone I know and trust(rogero in this case) rather than something by someone I've never heard of. That's just me though

im really curious to know what purpose all these CFW's serve being made off a KIOSK FW........if we can unpack decrypt change and alter a KIOSK FW why can we not do the same with the OFW 4.30? i am using this CFW atm and so far i dont like the no dual USB device thing going on.....i have had nothing but issues getting my older games to launch.....but ill blame that on probably corruption as i have not used my CFW external in a while.......and well ya none of this adds up to my why the KIOSK firmware?

use the qa toggle pkg.... or go from kmeaw to rebug 3.55.2 then to any 4.21/4.30 cfw

When is this CFW stuff gonna be available on the 4.25 OFW to install? I can't downgrade to 3.55 or I would of long time back. I could actually but I can't afford a flasher to go back down. I am on 4.25 OFW and I want a installer from there. Please find a way to do it. Thanks

Can anyone tell me will this CFW support system with broken BD-ROM. I know the rebug 4.21 can emulate the BD-Rom?

If i am on 4.21/4.30 cfw, i have to update my 3.55 fixed games to the latest update right?

My question is do i update the game through multiman or through the game itself?

Sounds like lots of people have gone from KMW to 4.x CFW I would download the qa_toggle util first, install it, run, and then do the button sequence to make sure you are toggled. From there you should be able to go to CFW 4.x thru recovery.....I am actually thinking of going to rebug now as I want the save game feature (ability to use any gamesave from any console/profile)......

I updated from kmeaw 3.55 but now I want to go to Rogero 4.30. How can I do that? Just rephrasing, I was on kmeaw 3.55, update to ErmaC 4.30 and now I want to move to Rogero 4.30

One rule never change to apply CFW Update: ( When Applicable )
Always true = The Most Safety Update Method --> no more guess --> the best way to do:

*Using any CFW --> PS3 screen recovery mode --> OFW(original firmware) v3.55 --> CFW any version.

no need to use 999 downgrader or the rogero tutorial? Just put ofw 3.55 and that's it?
