E3 Team Announces New PS3 Jailbreak(s) + Two Dongle-Free Patches

UPDATE 2: A fix for the FIFA patch has been added, see below for more info. UPDATE: Video added, showcasing Splinter Cell Trilogy HD (Disc version, not PSN version), which had not been "fixed" before by any other dongles; this is something they claim only their team can currently do. In case some of you are not aware, there has been rumors of a new True Blue clone, that is soon to be released by the E3 Team. The truth behind this matter, is that E3 have actually created their own method for playing 3.60+ games on 3.55 FW; in fact, they have found three different ways. I will let them take if from there, in this interview recently brought to my attention. Also, be sure to grab these two dongle-free EBOOT patches E3 has released with this announcement; Ninja Gaiden 3 and FIFA Street 2012.

Official Statement from E3 TEAM

Few days ago, there was news posted on various websites that we had cloned JB2 (aka) 'True Blue' successfully.

We clarify we did not clone any other product, but we did find the ways on how to allow the newer games to work on CFW v3.55.

Our research has found 3 different ways to allow newer games to work on older firmwares!

A way:
No need of any new keys, but allows SOME new games to work on CFW v3.55 with a special bypass.
We think the USB device on market uses this system. (Maybe)
With this method, most games even v4.11 games can run on CFW v3.55 very easily.
But there has some games that can't work with this A way.
E3 TEAM knows this A way very well and can modify a newer v3.6+ game in 10 min.

B way:
Decrypt games with it's private key and encrypt with v3.55 key, so game can run on CFW v3.55 successfully.
For example, you need v3.65 key to decrypt v3.65 game. Need v4.11 key to decrypt v4.11 game.
E3 Team can successfully get all newer keys up to v4.11.
We are 100% sure we can get all keys to v4.20 or higher FW with same way, only it takes some more time.
This means, E3 TEAM can decrypt all newer games with this B way.
As a matter of a fact, we are planning a newer CFW (no more need to be stuck on v3.55) when we have completed our research.

C way:
Modify Blu-Ray firmware to allow newer games to run on older firmware.
But only a few of the newer games can work with this C way, so we stopped researching this method.

We are in the progress of developing a new USB device, to allow users to enjoy our work with economical cost.
We will release further news and list of its features regarding this new product at a later date.

Finally, to thank all of users whom have supported us in the past with our previous products, like the E3 Card Reader and E3 Flasher, we have decided to release 2 game eboots for free for everyone to enjoy that work directly on any console running CFW v3.55 directly.

PS: Unfortunately the latest Slim 3000x consoles can't work currently with methods mentioned above, as it is fully difference design compared to the older PS3 consoles, but have no fear we are still working hard on solving this Jailbreak puzzle.

Remember our current product, The E3 Flasher is also very useful for Dual-Boot and to downgrade on older consoles, as for now we need to still stay on CFW v3.55.

Below is links to our proof videos to show our work. First we run Ninja Gaiden 3 using the A way and then second we run Splinter Cell Trilogy HD with B way, which no matter how hard you have tried the A way it will never run.

For those users still having problems, make the SPRX file gets overwritten in this directory on your HDD containing the 'Fifa Street' game:

PS3_GAME/USR_DIR/dlc/dlc_FootballCompEng/dlc/FootballCompEng/

Finally, some users might have to 'Rebuild the Database' via the PS3 Recovery Menu, if their PS3 has cached the wrong ver. code from the previously unpatched SPRX file!

The E3 Team are also sorry for all the inconveniences regarding this issue.

tthousand's hint !!! To make these games playable on your 3.41 machines, simply apply the patch, and the edit the PARAM.SFO to say 3.41 instead of 3.55(or whatever).

If they teach us how to patch the new games, then that's a good thing. If we buy their hardware and then leave us flapping in the wind, and just kill the TB support in the process, then it's going to piss a lot of people!

But I will not get too excited, until I got their final work in my hands! So until then, I'll see this information as gossip/rumors, and nothing more.

My thoughts...

If the patches are as easy as they say, we should see an abundance of patches, possibly for every game.

Plus the promise of CFW does not sound that impossilbe.

Also, I saw this as a real eye opener to this scene. It appears this guys have the 4.11 keys. Now I am wondering who else does.

In the end, we will have to see what they offer with their product. As for what bitsbubba said... too true. It is sad we have such a twisted scene, where you need Cobra to run one game, TB to run another, while the rest can be played normally, or with "normal" patches. And then what... 4.11 CFW comes out and you have to un-patch, re-repatch, and possibly even go get a flasher (so you can enjoy your Cobra to the fullest, unless that gets upgraded, which might take some time).

Interesting, but these dongles are really turning into a mess. I bougt the ps3jailbreak 1.1 then, the following version (because the first had a problem) and now, have to buy thiss...and what comes next? maybe it should be better just to wait for a cfw...

Ok been wanting to say this for a long time take a look a psp and how it had patching then pandora to get CFW then now with PRO and ME don't need anything but the ISO and that is probably what is going to happen to the PS3 the whole system is based around PSP in the first place

Nice, I myself started with the PS3break v1.1, which is what I assume you mean. It took too long to get, so I got another one while waiting, the MAX AVR USB v1.2 (three of them actually ). From there it was the x3max, which seemed like a promising item to pick up at the end of 3.41 JB. PS3usercheat/theif was next, followed by a Cobra. Now we got TB and E3 about to throw down. E3 has been around longer, and personally I am expecting to see some good things from them. This might put TB in a tight spot, and you never know how it is going to go from there.

I'm glad someone was able to beat True Blue finally (after numerous unsuccessful reverse engineer news), too bad it wasn't a talented and selfless scener, just another greedy dongle manufacturer.

I would be glad to support an open method with donations, but won't buy another dongle after I bought the expensive 3.41 one just a few days before the 3.55 CFW.

I still want to figure out how to mod my 360. I got the Wii and PS3 for now, not to mention 2 PSPs, and those are getting me by, so I'm in no rush

This is some what good news, looks like there going to take it to the bank too tho.. atlease with a competitor its should bring the price down and the patches flowing, wonder whut the time frame looks like.

E3 flasher was in development for a long waite, and the full use never really took root(dual boot) I really wanna see what they got and if the timing is gonna be good as well.. thousand looks like you were right!

"Things are starting to hEaT uP this summer" this month is even better than last month, mmOs, Psn, the main OS Emu for PC's development. Its gonna go full scale soon with all these new tools coming to the light!
