E3 Releases CFW 4.30

This is no surprise. The E3 team has just released custom firmware 4.30. Dubbed E3 CFW 4.30, this custom firmware also includes a backup manager. Reports suggest that it's an old rendition of Deank's multiMAN. As usual I would advise our members to hold off and wait till true scene developers release some information regarding this custom firmware. Call me paranoid if you will but I am curious if this CFW includes any hidden agendas. Also DO NOT install this custom firmware from CFW 3.55 without following the correct procedures.

The E3TEAM has released the latest E3 CFW4.30 for free. The bricking issue has been improved. Just download here and enjoy. (Pass is ' www.e3-tech.net ')

Here we mention to E3 flasher users that you do not need to solder a wire to use the latest upgrade.bin file to unbrick a console.

I found some additional info via ps3news that also mentions a previous announcement from the 26^th of this month that was later removed.

You still need to be on CFW v3.55 or OFW v3.55 to install this new CFW v4.30 from the E3 Team.
It is best if downgrading to follow the normal steps and dehashing like with Rogero just to be sure of no bricks.

It's pretty obvious.

Their bread and butter is selling flashers, releasing a slightly flawed CFW that will brick a few consoles assure them a certain amount of sales.

I'm following Rogero, when HE will release a 4.30, then I'll jump.

krytonic, of course I'm gonna jump in repeat the same things, because there isn't anything else to say. It's ridiculous to hate on E3 Team because of shitty reasons, you basically said you don't trust them because you THINK they have lied about something to the scene. You don't even know If it actually happened or exacly what happened, but you hate them just for the possibility of It being true... What the heck?

no 3.55 isnt good anymore u cant even play 2k13 and borderlands 2 those 2 games are the reason i updated now i can play it didnt brick im on rogero 1.09

Dude, no, just no. I KNOW they lied to the scene. I have seen what they announce and then not do what they say they would do. I don't think, I know. I hate them because i have seen them lie. That is a perfectly valid reason. You can defend them all you want but I will not change my mind because I have seen what they do for the past few years. How long have you been around for to see the shit they lie about?

They're releasing this to save face, not secretly bricking a certain amount of consoles to boost sales(come on, really). And I haven't heard of many E3 bricks yet.

I will wait for a non comercial related dev/group 4.21+ CFW. Kakaroto had already stated that is really possible and it is happenig while we discuss here devs are already working! The doors now are open........ I am $O $ORRY $ONY!

I have cech2501A im on rogero 4.21 cfw v1.09 is it safe to update from cfw 3.55 rogero v3.7 to e3 4.30cfw thru recovery mode.

It is best to not install this and wait for someone else to release 4.30 CFW.

If you got something to loose then you will do a better job, If that wasn't the case then socialism wouldn't have failed. E3 being able to indirectly make profit on this shouldn't be seen as something negative, this is a free CFW after all.

They never lied. They said they would release X product and they didn't. Why? Well, profit issues, hardware flashers being able to do the same things (like the dual boot hardware), etc, they had their reasons. That's far from lying as far as I know. hcode123, I've already seen people successfully doing there, but there really isn't much reason though, at least not for now. There are no games signed with 4.30 keys (in case they're different), the only noticeable difference would perhaps be stability (I think Rogero's v1.09 still have some minor glitches) and PSN access.

If you are still on 3.55 though, I would say go for this instead of Rogero, no bricks reported so far.

Unless you're interested on OFW 3.55+ features, I would actually recomend you to stay at CFW 3.55. With all the patches being released, there isn't much reason to upgrade to a higher FW for now.

It's common sens peoples, it's not about theories or drama.
They make a living through flashers, think for a second.

We're talking about business here, they want their pay check every month.

I just don't trust those companies, lies or not.

The more money you get, the greedier you become.

You have to understand that those companies don't give a damn about you and your console, at the end of the day the only thing that matters is their sales rate.

Reading through this forum it looks like some members are living in a fantasy.

Stay away from this, and wait for Rogero.

This is just an advice.

If you happen to brick your console, you'll have to purchase an E3 flasher to get your console working again (what a coincidence ).

What about the time they said they would release the keys that they already had, waited for months, and nothing? What about the time they said they would regularly patch games for 3.55 and have loads of them? They didn't.

Not only do they say their product will do this and that so you'll buy it and buy their expansions or new versions or whatever in the future, but they LIE about other things like the two things I just mentioned.

Also, saying you will release a product and then you don't is indeed a lie. Even with a valid reason it is still a lie.

I am not going to trust the CFW of a company who has a history of lieing. You are also very surprising because you are the first full-on E3 fanboy I have seen.

Here's where some of the "common sense" people are using falls apart. Yes, they are a business and are in it for the money. The thing is if they put out a bad product it will affect the sales of their other products negatively. It would be bad business for them to put out a buggy/problematic firmware

Oh, and since this is free what is the problem exactly?

why people always says theirs no reason to upgrade to some recent cfw's

1. u can play new games not all games are patch on 3.55 ex 2k13, borderlands 2, sleeping dogs and many more

2. this e3 has psn and can play online i can read some comments that it can play 2k13 just fine online though im on cfw rogero 4.21 v1.09

3. vita cross play with any games if u have a vita.

4. u can update any patch dlc with no problems whatsover i can update my game and still it will work

theres so many reasons now to update from 3.55 u wouldnt know unless u try u can say 3.55 is still stable blah blah but this barrage of recent cfw are epic keep moving forward guys!

The problem with free is the following:

E3 has not said yet if their firmware can be upgraded directly from one version to the next without downgrading. They also have not said that it can be downgraded WITHOUT a hardware flasher. So when they release an update from 4.30 to 4.35 will the people on their CFW be able to downgrade without the need of their proprietary hardware? This could be the problem with FREE. Once on their CFW, will it also have no additional cost to change to a different version, or go back to CFW 3.55 or any other FW? Until these questions are answered, I would be hesitant to use their CFW.

If bricks occur, they can throw some bs to explain the matter.
And because we can't possibly prove they did it on purpose, the can get away with it easily.

This is how I see things.

I'm not saying this CFW will brick your console for sure, but knowing it comes from a company that makes profit from bricked consoles I'd stay away from this.

I'm sure there are plenty of people that already own a flasher and could test if the software only downgrader still works on it. Everybody is always told not to install a new CFW without a flasher until it's fully tested

So again - what's the problem?

He indirectly admited he wouldn't release the CFW at his blog on a post explaining the ECDSA algorithm, he said It was impossible for anyone to do so. Are you gonna say he's a lier and bash him? He's a smart dude and have contributed to the scene, he kinda lied there but minor things shouldn't destroy someone's reputation.

They said they would patch 3.55 games, they patched a few and released CFW 4.30, making It no longer necessary. Wow, son of a gun, amirite? I'm sorry, but they never lied, at most, they announced some products which they never released.

Thank you, that's exacly what I think.

franzke, believe It or not, I use PS3 mostly for Showtime actually, I play a few games now and than though. Perhaps there are quite a few people in similar situation and in that case, there is no need to upgrade to highers CFWs. I only went to 4.21~4.30 CFW to see if actually worked, then went back to 3.55.

EDIT: CS67700, both me and Bahamut Lord already explained why them bricking PS3s would actually decrease their products sales. And also, take a look at other scene sites, amazingly, this seems to be more stable then Rogero's CFW, no bricks so far. That must be sad to all E3 team haters.
