E3 Releases CFW 4.30

This is no surprise. The E3 team has just released custom firmware 4.30. Dubbed E3 CFW 4.30, this custom firmware also includes a backup manager. Reports suggest that it's an old rendition of Deank's multiMAN. As usual I would advise our members to hold off and wait till true scene developers release some information regarding this custom firmware. Call me paranoid if you will but I am curious if this CFW includes any hidden agendas. Also DO NOT install this custom firmware from CFW 3.55 without following the correct procedures.

The E3TEAM has released the latest E3 CFW4.30 for free. The bricking issue has been improved. Just download here and enjoy. (Pass is ' www.e3-tech.net ')

Here we mention to E3 flasher users that you do not need to solder a wire to use the latest upgrade.bin file to unbrick a console.

I found some additional info via ps3news that also mentions a previous announcement from the 26^th of this month that was later removed.

megatoto, while bricking consoles = people buying flasher, bricking consoles under E3 Team name would make people NOT buy their hardware flashers, but someone else's instead.

EDIT: I'm amazed at how many people want Kmeaw. Seriously, why him? His CFW was basically Wutangrza's with support for syscall 36 already included instead of being installed by pkg. So even back then, It wasn't groundbreaking and by now It's outdated, doesn't have as many features as Rebug and Rogero's. Not calling it bad, but you guys are overrating him.

I know I probably shouldn't have, but I updated. My model is a CECHG01 and I am able to log into PSN without the LG5tool. The E3 Flasher 4.30 given as their backup manager is an old 02.09.02 version of Multiman.

Does anyone know if Rogero's downgrader works on this? The reason I am asking is because people will rush to install this without much thought, and if they don't have a hardware flasher and Rogero's downgrader doesn't work they'll be stuck on this CFW.

I think it's good E3 are doing this. Their E3 Flasher is a good product and if they help themselves sell more then good for them. It's not like they're being douchebags and charging us for useless sh!t like the TB Dongle.

Sandbug, Rogero's downgrader trick your PS3 into thinking It's upgrading to FW 4.40, while instead, It's downgrading to 3.55. Since someone confirmed you can go from Rogero's 4.21 to this, then you probably can use the downgrade PUP to get back to 3.55. I heard people confirmed this at ps3 crunch but I was too lazy to look for that post.

This. I don't get the E3 Team hate, It's quite retarded, they haven't done anything wrong to the scene. They might have dropped a few projects, but well... They aim for profit and perhaps they weren't so lucrative.

I installed E3 4.30 and I don't know if it's the firmware or the modded MM they use but I've had problems, mostly hdd recognition. I'm going back to Rogero to wait for an update

Ok, here is the problem, i have OFW 4.30, and i try to install the update to CFW 4.30, and every time it says that the data file is corrupt at 72%, then i try safe mod on PS3, says that file is corrupt, it looks like they need fix this issue, does any one have the same problem like me ? And if you ask i have old fat model of 80GB... any ideas ?

It can only be installed on 3.55 firmware(for now) at the moment you need a hardware flasher to downgrade to 3.55 first

Same problem as Logi2011. I was already pretty much screwed on Rogero's 4.21FW anyway since my bluray drive doesn't work and none of my psn games will start along with the app/home/game. I'm ready to just give up on the scene completely.

okay i ll tell u why it keep saying data is corrupted if u not on ofw or 3.55 cfw it wont work u ll need to downgrade your ps3 from 4.30 to 3.55 if u wanted to use E3 4.30 CFW but u gonna have to wait till E3 to bring new way to go back from 4.30 OFW to 3.55 OFW

I know how the downgrader works, but alas, I'd like a confirmation on whether it works or not. Guessing just doesn't cut it.

why bother upgrading from cfw3.55 if eboots are now being released for all the newer games.I'm going to wait few more weeks,just incase of any issues with these new cfw's.

Now when all these cfw's are coming out of the woodwork I'm thinking maybe it's time to get a flasher. Which one do you guys recommend? I'd prefer a completely soldersless flasher.

That doesn't make sence, if it says CFW 4.30 , than normaly you could update from OFW 4.30 to CFW 4.30 just like OFW 3.55 to CFW 3.55, eather way, i was not expect this.... they have to, or they could make normal upgrade from OFW 4.30 to CFW 4.30, and why they make name CFW 4.30 name if you can't upgrade from OFW to CFW ??
