it might be a little trickier than the PSP and assuming that Sony learned from their past mistakes this might turn out to be a challenge. im really curious to see how this plays out but it might take a while before we see any CFW on the VITA

Do you REALLY see them learning from their mistakes? lol

On Topic: Was stating to a friend that the 3G function is a waste of time and money. I know there's a plus side to it...being able to play where there isn't wifi, but other than that, who wants to spend additional money just to play someone online? $300 USD is a hefty price IMHO for a hand held. Heck, even $250 USD is a big price tag. You can get a PS3 for around that price.

Only real positive I see to this device is Street Fighter X Tekken is going to be on it. Otherwise, it's a gimmicky device...

well, to be fair Sony is holding the upper hand here. if they didnt learn from their mistakes we would all be on CFW 3.61. you at least have to give them credit for that. im routing for CFW but im going to remain realistic and say its not going to be as fast as it was for the psp.

anyway i agree with the 3G seems like a waste. personally, im going to save the 50 bucks and skip it. there is no where i play my psp that does not have wifi and i cant imagine my time with the vita will be any different.

But I wonder will the PS Vita Have GSM or CDMA Service if GSM then the unlock will be easier,But if its CDMA then Flashing it may be the only way. also no company will accept a psvita on their network dued to sony sueing others like savage beasts

Sony actually learned from the PSP's mistakes. The Vita will not have internal memory capable of holding full games in it, no Memory card, no USB, the only way to get games is by downloading them from PSN, or buying their Cards/ Cartridges/ Whatever it is. I really see no way to get around that.... Only option is a very unpractical one. Someone will have to make a host server of his own like PSN, and host free games their, but hosting a server of that caliber is going to cost. ALOT. And it would probably be taken down by authorities...

Soo, yeah.... I guess I'll have to skip this one. i'm happy with my Peace Walker thank you very much

easy 3rd part vendors could make there own game cartridge that has a certain amount of memory or with a usb plug to go to an external hard drive or something

and the catridge could act as what ever game you load

theres always a way maybe what i just said wont work but another will
o and hardware mods are always possible theres people adding more usb ports onto there ps3's all the time however thats because the ps3 has usb

or using ya pc as like a server and getting it to host the files and act like a modified psn where all the games are free

It's amazing how many stupid, idiotic comments one has to see on these sections...

From the moron that says "3G PSVita + CFW = Free internet" to the ******* that comments: "no company will accept a psvita on their network dued to sony sueing others like savage beasts "

They really should do some better form of age verification...

like with everything NOTHING will EVER be hack proof, you jus gotta have faith the the right person with the right knowledge takes interest into hacking the object so only time will tell in how long it takes for there to be a CFW on this but hope its soon after release.

these look cool and will prob end up getting 1 jus to mod the hell out of it

Umm you do know those 2 parts contradict each other? Without any sort of internal/external memory, it'd be impossible to download anything off PSN. Data doesn't magically store itself on the system without a memory source. If they wanted to promote digital downloads, then it's required that the system have someway to store full games. The only thing they can really do is lock users from accessing it but I highly doubt they'll do that as that would also prevent users from putting movies/mp3s and such on it and that's pretty much standard in portable platforms nowadays.

Don't want CFW to happen too fast, cuz then pirating is made easy, then you get exactly what happened to the PSP... A nearly dead console, no developers want to put their game on it.

Well the service is supposed to be AT&T only... I'm thinking that means GSM...

      This.

See, Yden, I didn't exactly contracdict myself. There is NO internal memory, that much is true. And no memory card either. so how am I to store games exactly? well, like jazneo said, Flash cards probably made specificaly by SONY so you won't be able to put anything inside it but things you legitimally download from PSN.
