  • E3 Flasher Release Date - No Dual Boot

News comes to us regarding the much anticipated E3 Flasher. The release of the E3 Flasher Limited version starts today. Unfortunately the dual boot option has to be delayed due to not having a solderless clip but with a future release it will implemented. Also included is a Slim PS3 installation manual linked below.

E3 flasher LIMITED version start to ship on 13th. We are sorry for the delay because CLIP component is very low rate . We had to ship small quantity like 100-200pcs every day recently , we are working hard to improve those problem.

Now you can get new slim installation manual with clip from here.

E3 flasher limited version fixed on NOR FLASH FAT console not so good, you can know some from here ,sure all NOR FLASH console is NO SOLDER include SLIM AND NOR FLASH FAT .

We are regret that we had to cancel some function like dual boot from E3 FLASHER LIMITED version becuase NO solder function added(CLIP). We will develop a new flasher to add those function with few wire solder.
We take some picture for E3 FLASHER LIMITED production, you can know production status here.

...seems fairly useless then if it can't dualboot, as that is what most people were anticipating.

and it was advertised as being dual boot aswell as being a downgrade i pre ordered for solderless dual boot cabability and now this im glad i can get a refund.

bad luck to them. if we all cancell our orders that will have to make them think twice. them being left with 3000 useless devices no one wanted.

Wow great, that just became completely worthless then. Guess I won't be playing this season's games anytime soon.

Agree. Ask all togheter a refund, it's a useless toy. I wait the fat dual boot solderless version. Over all, i'm not surprised to read this bad news Typical chinese trick , hoping people will give them some money instead of a refund. Mindless kids, for example. 90% of their customers

And a copy and paste with a representative from Modchipcentral............

      Greg says:
How do I go about cancelling my E3 flasher order.
      Greg says:
It has now become useless to me.
      Modchip Central says:
      What is your order number?
      Greg says:
I will look it up right now.
      Greg says:
      #11****
      Modchip Central says:
I have cancelled and refunded your order.
      Greg says:
Thank you very much! When they are capable of doing dual boot, I will re order.
      Modchip Central says:
      No problem

As I told him/her, it really is useless to me.
I have a NAND console and it has no capability for dual boot.
I can solder with no problem, but the lack of dual boot just blew it out the window for me.

I find it interesting that the E3-tech website simply shows........

      Service Unavailable
I wonder if they are updating the site right now or if they are about to abandon the project altogether.

It has been that way for (at least) the last 2 hours.

I may have to go have a better look at the Progskeet dual boot capabilities now.

      Edit........
Just did another refresh and it came right up.

Cashout with money of the bunch of idiots who gave them money for a trashy device and escape? Hahaha Maybe just an update, they magically found CLIPs for 200k email pretending a refund. Chinese rule, about fakes

Wow, bad business practice i say. They wait until the DAY they release it to announce no dual boot? like they couldn't do it in advance? Like they wanted to get everyones money first.

      "Surprising arrival" indeed

Why has no one here mentioned what they've done to the NOR fat console!!! What a disgrace, you can't even assemble the console with the e3 installed.

Useless junk. And if you dont want to buy e3 but pay someone to downgrade for you with their e3, you better pay them to reapply thermal paste while they are at it, because this can't be avoided with installation! Better to buy a used ps3 with old fw with your money

Sadly no Nand clip yet or dual boot for any version (when they release a dual boot some soldering will be required) both seem to be still in the works

I'd be happy to have one of these if it did NAND. Dual boot isn't so much of an issue, I just need to downgrade...

We think lots of user mis-understand us, here is some clarification.
1: E3 FLASHER LIMITED still provide 11 accessory, include esata station.
2: we design e3 flasher on solder way at first, this way can get dual boot well. But later we change hardware and software design because of adding clip. so finally it's difficult to get dual boot function on e3 flasher clip version.
3: You still can get 3.72 and 3.55 switch with 2 HDD, it need more steps than dual boot, maybe we can call it half dual boot. This way no need any solder. We will release this half dual boot way in few days, you just upgrade e3 flasher limited and get it work.
4: We are working hard to allow e3 flasher limited vesion works really dual boot, but we can't promise now because lots of changes.
5: We upload all neccessory software and manual, you can go here to download and enjoy one key downgrade.
6: New e3 flasher should come out in few month with more fantastic function !
Now on there website.. all be patient.. maybe we've got the real deal here!

That's the part I am wondering about.
What do they mean by "it need more steps"?
They do not clarify it anywhere that I can find.

If it means some soldering is required........not a big deal for me.
I worked with microelectronics for a few years and did a massive amount of soldering on very small stuff.
I still have all my tools sitting in a box.

If they mean it takes extra steps to change firmware every time the PS3 is booted up (other than a button push and HDD swap) then I will wait and see what the future holds.

My hopes are that in the future we would have a boot up screen that would simply let you pick which firmware boots and fly with it.
This is the way every one of my computers is set up to multiboot.

Kind of makes you wonder how many orders were cancelled in a 24 hour period.
