  • E3 Flasher News Update - For those confused by recent news

There has been some confusion recently with the recent news released by e3-tech.net regarding the much anticipated E3 Flasher. The first bit was noticed by some of our readers dated 2011-10-18 below. So I contacted e3-tech.net via email to get some clarification on the subject.

We renew two file to fix game problem after downgrade to 3.55 .Please note don't install any other 3.55FW after downgrade to 3.55, otherwise will have brick risk ! Click here to download the E3_downgrade file copy to TF(for one key downgrade)V1.2 and Enter and exit factory service mode file V1.2

    Hi,

Can you clarify your latest news.

"We renew two file to fix game problem after downgrade to 3.55 .Please note don't install any other 3.55FW after downgrade to 3.55, otherwise will have brick risk ! Click here to download the E3_downgrade file copy to TF(for one key downgrade)V1.2 and Enter and exit factory service mode file V1.2"

Is this an updated file "e3downgrade to TF v1.2.rar" that had an error/issue that could cause bricks. People are asking if we can use other custom firmwares after downgrade using the new file. please advise.
    Regards

    Subject: Re: confusing news

1: you can’t install any other 3.55CFW or OFW
2: after you downgrade to 3.55, it’s already a specialy 3.55CFW, we call it checkoff3.55 . you can’t install any other 3.55 CFW or 3.55 OFW on this system.
3: you can install any manager on this checkoff 3.55 ! you can upgrade to 3.73 on this checkoff 3.55
So there you have it. Once you downgrade you have to use their "special" v3.55 custom firmware and no other custom firmware or official firmware v3.55. I don't think this will appeal to many... if at all.

On other e3-tech.net news. Today e3-tech has announced that they have successfully downgraded a PS3 from the latest official 3.73 firmware. So seems like Sony has not focused their attention to these downgrading methods....yet.
    2011-10-19
E3 FLASHER LIMITED downgrade 3.73 to 3.55 successful, the downgrade way is same as 3.72 downgrade to 3.55, no change !
Please note after downgrade to 3.55, this 3.55 is a special CFW3.55, you can install any manager you love on this 3.55CFW! here we upload a good working multman manager for user.
    We also add two new email address today, to get help, please contact help.e3@gmail.com;
to enquiry sale question, please contact sale2.e3@gmail.com.

Or Rogero's CFW as they are using the same CFW patches, also I don't think sony can patch up the Nand/Nor downgrade method except through hardware upgrade

Does this mean that one could downgrade/upgrade as he/she pleases? Downgrade and use checkoff3.55 to play older games. Upgrade to play new games that have been released. Downgrade and... Just a question because from the video originally release it seemed as if the downgrade took only a few minutes and you were good to go. Not sure if going back and forth would have some type of adverse effect on one's system or not.

Do you think Rogero CFW is doable? A brick is not fun at all

The initial video (my guess) was the prototype and possibly fully soldered to the PS3, and probably just switching between the FW on the E3 and PS3, with this new version (also my guess) to switch between FWs you probably have to flash each time you want to change (so wouldn't be as fast but faster than upgrading normally)

Yes I think so, also not much of a brick if all you have to do to fix would be flash their FW to fix! (if Rogero didn't work but by all right it should)

I guess their english is too poor for them to explain correctly that you can only use a 3.55 CFW that has LV1 checks patched.Of course you can use any CFW that has those LV1 checks patched, but if you install OFW or any CFW without those patches, you get a brick.

What about downgrading the old fashoned way by using a dongle and the patched 3.41 then from their to what ever your system can handle. Is that possible?
I dont know to much about it but could you maybe patch lv1 with MFW Builder?

I guess the checkoff3.55 is different from 3.55 CFW with LV1 checks patched. The checkoff3.55 is the lowest firmware version which E3 Flasher can downgrade. The E3 Flasher is a commercial production. if it could downgrade 3.72 to 3.41, why not show this great feature on the E3 official site?

I have been trying to get an english version from somewhere, and no matter how many times i read any of the tutorials for the downgrade process I am at a complete loss. I can solder like a soldier, and disassemble and fix a ps3 like the breeze, but this product is as much of a hit as a big pile of s**t. If anyone actually figures this thing out it will be a miracle.

I think I'm still going to wait for mine to come in, and post a review and video... Maybe their CFW isn't so bad. I mean the guys are the only ones to for a solderless downgrade option. Even though their english blows, it may not be so terrible. PLUS, I preordered the new Assassins Creed and need 3.7

So if you downgraded to 3.55 via e3 flasher there is still no way to down grade lower even if you use a dongle and patches?

have you not heard of Progskeet they're solder-less too!!

well any FW with the "no check" patches 3.41 3.15 but every FW you use from now on except the FW you downgraded from and above has to have the "no check" patches

Well thats not to bad then, but why? I would think flashing the nor/nand chip would completely remove the firmware, what part of it stay behind that wont let you upgrade or downgrade without a lv1 patch?
