  • E3 Flasher - Downgrade POC Video

It seems that the E3 team have been keeping up on their promise, and have delivered a Proof Of Concept Video that has shown a downgrade of firmware 3.70 to 3.55 in under 5 minutes using the E3 Flasher. You might be wondering, "Does this also require soldering?" This can be simply answered, "No." This device works on both NAND and NOR consoles. That's right, the E3 team have out done themselves once again.

Here is a quote from the PS3HAX website
Team E3DIY contacted us today showing and confirming that they have managed to successively downgrade PS3 firmware 3.70 to 3.55 from their chip. They told us that this method requires NO soldering for SLIM PS3 consoles (required for phat), works for NAND and NOR, and is a simple one click and under five minute downgrade.
And the e-mail the team has sent.
    E3DIY team success downgrade 3.7 to 3.55 with E3 FLASHER !
In 5min, E3DIY team success downgrade 3.7 to 3.55 with E3 FLASHER. Time is short and operation
is very easy, this depend on E3 FLASHER special design, 1key operation and nor flash on board !
we not record any image about E3 FLASHER regards it’s not release by far, hope eveyone understand.
the official version should release next week, more video and picture will be public at that time .
PS: E3 FLASHER compatiable all NAND FLASH and NOR FLASH console .
with slim console no need solder wire but fat console need .
Here is the video showcasing their triumphs of downgrading from 3.70 to 3.55 firmware.

Side Note: Good progress has been made in the PS3 'scene' as you can see. Those of you who are stuck on 3.70 are in luck.

Great news for the scene! Will this also work with the new hack-proof PS3?

Pro: We know about the downgrade before Sony has a chance to spring the new FW on us this time, for the time being atleast anyways.

Too bad it requires soldering if you have a fat PS3 Other than that, this is amazing.

Darkman-PSG it's a nand/nor flasher (as in progskeet) which is hardware I'm not seeing any FW patches being able to stop this, I'm pretty sure this even works with new anti-hack models (which was supposedly their hardware fix)

      Either I read it wrongly, or people are reading the article way too fast, it says, quote;

"They told us that this method requires NO soldering for SLIM PS3 consoles (required for phat)"

I think most of us have PHAT ps3's considering Jailbreaking took place than, and people who are still on CFW have it on there PHAT ps3's. Unless those very same people bought SLIM models as well.

not positive but I believe this is a teensy styled dongle that needs connected to the PS3 nor flash with a clip (nand solder wires) USB on this would be to connect to PC

No it doesn't. Hell even CECH-25xx slims with datecode 1B (from April 2011) are not downgradeable below 3.60, because Sony changed metldr so that 3.55 will not work.

If you watch this video backwards, it's a video of a guy with a sweet 3.55 console who eats a sandwich for six minutes and upgrades to 3.70.

I guess I should have been more clear, downgrade is possible just not always to 3.55 (as it is only possible to downgrade to the lowest FW allowed by your console)

This is great news for our group and this has been achieved without a solder. By e 3 flasher do they mean the milky white E3 card reader that was released in market during the dongle wars ? E3 reader is only $22 (()))))) wow !
