E-UAE 0.8.25 R3 Released - Amiga Emulator for PS3

It's been quite some time, since the PS3 scene has received a new emulator. Today, that all changes, with the arrival of E-UAE 0.8.25 R3, an Amiga emulator, for the PS3. The ported emulator, features 68000 68010 and 68020 CPU emulation, aimga hi-res graphics (720x576), keyboard emulation and more. The emulator is compiled with the PSL1GHT SDK, so it will need to be re-signed for play on 3.50/3.55 firmware.

- compiled by using psl1ght sdk
- The full uae documentation is stored in the 'docs' subdirectory, here
you are reading the ps3 port info.

Features:
- 68000, 68010, 68020 processor cores
- OCS, ECS and AGA chipset
- amiga hi-res (720x576) graphics resolution in 32bit depth
- joystick1, joystick2 (2nd joypad required) and mouse emulation
- simple options dialog (supports switching of the disk files and more)
- sound in 48000 kHz
- keyboard emulation
- support for loading zip and dms floppy images
- reads either /dev_usb000/uae/uae.cfg or /dev_hdd0/game/EUAE00825/USRDIR/UAE.CFG
configuration during startup!

Requires:
- ps3 ready to boot homebrew programs
- uae.cfg either in /dev_usb000/uae/ or /dev_hdd0/game/EUAE00825/USRDIR/ directory
(sample UAE.CFG included)
- kickstart rom - see docs/readme

Controls:
- press R2 to activate virtual keyboard (vkb), release R2 to hide it.
If vkb is shown press left/right digital pad to select the current
key. Press the 'up' digital pad button to actually simualte key press
of the current key. L1, L2, R1 ann CIRCLE buttons are user defined keys.
If vkb is shown press L1 to define L1 button, press L2 to define L2 button
and press R1 to define R1 button.
- joypad 1 (emulates joystick 1 and mouse 1)
- joypad 2 (emulates joystick 2) - if you want to enable 2-joystick mode, plug-in
the second joy pad, restart uae and switch the port mode to "joy-1 & joy-2" in the
options dialog.
- left analog pad emulates the mouse movement. You can speed-up the mouse movement
in the options dialog.
- CROSS - joystick button 1
- SQUARE - mouse button 1
- TRIANGLE - mouse button 2
- press Start to enter application menu, here you can load ADF files.
- press CIRCLE to exit the application menu

Additional info:
- The program reads uae.cfg during startup. In this configuration file
you should specify all required parameters (memory size, kick rom, initial
floppy disk files, cpu core, chipset etc.).
- Files (kickrom, adf files) are accesible from either usb disk or internal disk.

ive ALWAYS wanted an amiga so i mite install this and play those games that always too my fancyed chaos engine mite play ya soon lol

OH and speedball 2! have played on STE but was awesome to the extreme. now why cant they finally make a speedball 3? would be wicked on PSN or XBLA

It would have been so nice if they were telling us how to start the games too....So much blah blah and all it does is to make people confused for no reason.

Read the damn docs, heh, it's not difficult at all.

Also, if anyone is lacking anything in particular, you might want to wander over to http://www.pokenet.co.uk/misc/files.amiga/ for the bare minimum

Brilliant news! I'm an Amiga fan from WAY back (even had an upgraded PPC tower Amiga A1200 with all the gear inside). Best OS ever.

So, how do you re-sign the pkg to work with 3.55 KMEAW??

Hopefully a 3.55 happy Spectrum emulator comes out asap too

Could someone please give a brief tut on how to load a game (where to put it, zipped/unzipped, how to launch etc) i have the correct kickrom (i think, i get the amiga disk image when i launch the emulator) i have read the docs, but am still none the wiser.

I can confirm that it is working on 3.55 KMEAW without any problems (without re-signing).

one word....................AMAZING

this is the first emulator ive got for my ps3 and its a blinder! really look forward to see how the compatibility improves! if the devs read this site a couple of good ideas would be to get usb keyboard and mouse iplemented (trying to play pinball dreams/fantasies was fail lmao).

if any of u guys had an amiga tho this is one hell of a way to relive those glorious memories

i cant get the on screen keyboard to work?? i press R2, and nothing happens, all games work fine,
resolution is slightly higher up past my screen

why doesnt on screen keyboard work
is it somethgin to do with cfg file?

1- Hold R2 to bring the virtual keyboard.
2- Press "Right" or "Left" key on the D-Pad to highlight the desired key.
3- Press "UP" key on the D-pad to send the highlighted key.

i held R2 down and nuthing happens,

im trying quik and silva u have to press F1 to start game, and i cant bring up on screen keyboard,

Holding right 2 trigger button for 10 seconds and nuthing.???

I think the keyboard is working for you but is being displayed out of the screen, are you using an ntsc console/tv? ifso try changing the gfx width and height in the config file to something more suitable for your setup, maybe 640x400.
