  • Dual NAND Setup on 40gb Fat PS3 Working

Today, a true dual firmware setup has arrived by the hand of a Spanish hacker, who goes by varicela. He was able to successfully install a working dual NAND setup on his 40gb Fat PS3. The job isn't an easy process and most likely shouldn't be tried by the average user. The entire process requires soldering 32 fine wires to the PlayStation 3's system board. Varicela has not released a tutorial yet or directions, but you can assume that will be coming in a future update. In addition, he promises to release videos of the dual nand setup next. It should also be noted that the PNM project, which we reported on earlier this month, also utilizes a similar setup of dual NANDs and is attempting to retrieve the new 3.6x keys. It may be possible that varicela can beat the project to the punch by utilizing his setup of dual NANDs. It will be interesting to see what transpires from this project. The scene finally appears to be heating up again!

Very Good After trying out several tests of the Nand Fat off the console with poor results because of the long cable and data loss, I decided to approach the issue by putting the two Nand and activating of interest.

    Here I leave a flash1 photo of a folded and functional Sem001.

flash0 I decided to put it on this side also Flash0 Native Here the selection of the switch to nands The next video A greeting

PNM is Dual NORI read Dual NAND brings nothing for 3.6.x keys because thats no exploit.Dual NOR is better because the Dual NOR exploit i don´t know exactly what this mean.Nevertheless Dual Nand is a step to Dual Firmware.

      burnt fingers ...... alot lol
i have rebooted ps3 and all works as it should
      next
      !. swap NOR's
      2. dump origional dump to second NOR
      3. see if it still boots as normal
      4. update second NOR TO 3.66
      5. see if i can switch between them
(i have 2 hdd's 1 will be for the origional NOR "3.55cfw" the other for second NOR "3.66ofw" as part of 3.66ofw is stored on the hdd)
Yeah, it's not that simple. Like i said, that won't work. It is obviously possible to do, but not by just switching out the chip.

It will work also on slim (or other consoles with NOR-Flash), because it's the same: connecting two flash-chips ans switching the enable-line. On slim you only have to exchange your HDD, because they are different due to the firmware on it.

No?! Because this is NOTHING, only a few wires and one switch. It is like switching betwean two video-inputs with a simple box.
All lines of both NAND-chips are connected together to common points on the mainboard, but the enable-line is switched. If it is switched to chip 1, this chip will communicate with the southbridge and chip 2 is sleeping. By moving the switch chip 2 will work and chip 1 sleeps. That's all.

Nand PS3s have all the firmware data stored in the Nand(up to 256mb), but Nor PS3s have some data stored on the Nor(up to 16mb) and the rest on the HDD (The remainder)

This looks promising. I just want to be able to play the latest games and still have homebrew on the same console. Can't afford separate PS3 just for playing new games.
if this was made into a product u could buy then would probably be mor expensive than a second hand ps3..

My current plan is to hold out for a way to get online to the PSN store so I can purchase the rest of the games I own (a.k.a DLC) or wait till the PS4 comes out, drives second hand console sales into the ground, and pick one up so I can play the few games that came out after 3.55 and the few games that need DLC to finish playing (a.k.a Hyperdimension Neptunia)

I hold my glass high in hopes that once the PS4 comes out, the PS3 gets hacked to hell and back so I can go online to the PSN Store and redownload the missing stuff.

Nice to see some progress, be it crude, but with some refinement one could have a fully dual NAND system.

I just can't get through those posts at all! It is purely an annoyance.

I wonder why some of us are "wired" that way?
For an answer to your question, you should read 'Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation'
Eats, Shoots & Leaves - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is the same reason why things like this dig away at some of us. We can see the English language going downhill faster than a fat kid in a Zorbing ball.

A panda walks into a café. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and proceeds to fire it at the other patrons.
'Why?' asks the confused, surviving waiter amidst the carnage, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

'Well, I'm a panda,' he says, at the door. 'Look it up.'

The waiter turns to the relevant entry in the manual and, sure enough, finds an explanation. 'Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves.'

Hello, I don't know if this is the right place for this. I have two consoles PS3. One is CECHC04-60GB with firm. 3.66, and the other is CECHG04-40GB (with a lot of YLOD) with firm. 3.55-kmeaw. I have good soldering skills and I want to ask if I can take the two NAND CHIP from the CECHG04 model and put it in the CECHC04, because I can't downgrade from 3.66?
