Disable Cinavia DRM Proection - PS3MFW Builder Task

Today, PSX-SCENE member tical has shared with us his new task for the PS3MFW Builder. This new task, change_cinavia_files.tcl (Change Cinavia DRM affected files), takes three sprx files which include Cinavia checks, and replaces them with DEBUG (DEX) files that do not include these Cinavia checks. There still needs to be work done on removing the Cinavia check from bdp_plugin sprx. For now basically, "Cinavia is now disabled for all DLNA playback and copying, but Cinavia checks on AVCHD and BD playback are still present." Below is the author's original announcement:

I have traced the Cinavia DRM checks to 4 separate sprx files and after a long time trying to patch these files I have found that 3 of those files are present in the DEBUG (DEX) firmware don't have the Cinavia DRM checks enabled. Files are videoplayer_util sprx, videoplayer_plugin sprx and videoeditor_plugin sprx.

I have successfully copied these 3 sprx files from DEBUG (DEX) FW 341 over to my retail PS3 unit running OFW 341 using dev_blind and Cinavia seems to be now disabled. I've confirmed this by playing back a number of Cinavia affected video files.

This means that Cinavia is now disabled for all DLNA playback and copying, but Cinavia checks on AVCHD and BD playback are still present with Message Code 3 that mutes the audio as the sprx file with the Cinavia check bdp_plugin sprx is not present in DEX firmware because BD playback is disabled in DEBUG. If someone is able to patch Cinavia out of bdp_plugin sprx this will be solved too.

I have created a new task for PS3MFW so this can be easily made part of any new MFW's as needed. Any FW version that has had the DEX firmware leaked should be able to be used to create a CFW of the same version. eg DEX 3.41 -> MFW 341 or DEX 355 -> MFW 355 etc etc. Don't use sprx files from different FW versions! This is awesome now I just need to wait for avchd support and I'll be adding this to my FWIm pretty sure jaicrab said he has this fixed on his up coming FW tho, guess we will have to wait and see...What's going on with jaicrab anyway? I haven't heard anything for awhile.

now this is the sort of thing i like i think mfw builder is so underrated and ppl should really give it the credit it deserves because i think the possibilities are endless what you could do with it thank you now since the chances of getting the psn back on 3.55 are slim and frankly im not interested in the psn anyway i think someone should make a .tcl file that allows you to perhaps do something like redirect the psn or customize it so you can have a custom psn so when you click on it, it goes to the PSX Store but an url of your choice and a dream would be to redirect the system update like on the psp and to redirect online games for like private servers but thats just pushing it

Why don't people just buy a damn wdlive and not use their PS3 to watch their (Pirated) movies on? I do

where do u get the sprx files from because you need them to patch the cfw with anyone know because i use mfw builder allot and i'd like the 3.41 and 3.55 ones please

because we are not all like you, for me I'm a single unemployed father of a 4yr old
edit: also saying (Pirated) movies is ignorant as you don't really know you assume (ASS out of U & ME)

I have two kids of my own and if you really wanted a job mc donalds or wal mart hires all the time and you hack and mod obviously because you are broke and lazy. Think about it? How can you even afford a ps3 then single father?

I am sorry to say this but if you really *wanted* a job you would have one. But you are one of those lazy types that sit on their ass and pirate things just because you don't want to work. Don't pull that single no job father thing on me. You live in a country where you can work if you wanted to but you obviously don't!

I have to agree with bits on this one. I have looked into wdlive, appletv, roku, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc... but it just seems like a hassle to me. If anything, I like the sound of the ORB-BR. I still need to try one of those out. I think I am a lifetime member of Play TV or whatever already, but that does not play genuine pirate copies

And if anyone already has a bluray player in their house with a usb port on it, chances are that s.o.b. can play mkvs. Man, bricks were shat a few days ago when I watched a Dark Knight mkv at full 1080p. ...dun even feel like buying blurays anymore =/ ..dahh im jk I buy all my sht cuz *cough* I'm rich! Hassle? You just load your movies on a external hard drive and plug it into your tv? How is that a hassle you do the same with your ps3. It plays full mkv's with hdmi how is that a hassle? Just format an external to ntfs and plug it in and go!

Dude list goes on, actually looking for a job in my feild, have tried wal-mart, coastal, safeway, etc. maybe they're hiring in your area not mine. my dad has the iomega thingy piece of crap locks up all the time, never had that on my PS3

The more things my PS3 can do the less money I have to spend on other crap, I never said that I haven't pirated before but you assume everyone does or has here is just ignorant. I wouldn't live that close to you, I used to respect your posts now they just seem to be full of shit

Do you want the wdlive pro or not and it hooks up to your tv not your ps3 lol I will mail it to you if you want it. HDMI cable not included as I am broke also. It's brand new. I also know why most people don't respect my post because I am a Pirate and most people can't admit it and follow the non pirate band wagon!

Mack702, by hassle I mean, buying one. Like I said, I have looked at all the options, and if I am going to spend my money on something, I want to make sure I am getting the best I can get for my money.
