Details of PSN "Welcome Back" Customer Appreciation Program

Now that the PSN has returned, users are probably wondering what kind of apology package they'll be getting from Sony. Sony's apology will come in the form of the previously announced "Welcome Back" program, which they were able to provide further details on today. The program will offer users their choice of two of the following titles: Dead Nation, inFAMOUS, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD, Wipeout HD + Fury. In addition gamers will receive 30 days free of Sony's premium service, PlayStation Plus, as well as other minor perks listed below.

Now that some PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been restored and you’re once again enjoying online gaming and entertainment, we’re happy to provide details about the “Welcome Back” appreciation program for customers in North America. We developed the program as an expression of our gratitude for your patience, support and continued loyalty during the service outage. From all of us at PlayStation, thank you and welcome back!

This package will be made available to all existing registered PlayStation Network and Qriocity users in North America (US and Canada), and will be made available shortly after we have fully restored the service. More specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live.
All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

Dead Nation
inFAMOUS
LittleBigPlanet
Super Stardust HD
Wipeout HD + Fury

For PSP owners, you will be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
ModNation Racers
Pursuit Force
Killzone Liberation

A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.
30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

We’d like to thank all of our publishing and development partners who’ve contributed to the Welcome Back program, including Bigbig Studios, Codeglue, Digital Leisure, Guerilla Games, Heavy Water, Housemarque, Lockwood, Loot, Mass Media, Media Molecule, SCE Cambridge Studios, SCE Studio Liverpool, SCE San Diego Studios, and Sucker Punch Productions. lol who cares!? half the people on this site probably have most of those game loaded on their beautiful custom firmware ps3 s already.

Wow $ony really went the extra mile, giving users "old azz games" that everyone that has a PS3 already owns in LBP, and Infamous, Stardust & wipe out, and if I am correct Dead Nation was free with PlayStation + 2 months ago.

And with the 30 days free of PlatStation+ all that is 2 minis, and a psx game....wait for it...& WOW. and when they say "A selection of “On Us” "rental" (Not own, but rent" movie titles will be available" $1.00 bet that it is a move that came out B4 2005

Thanks but no thanks, I will keep the 2TB Hard-Drives

Wow everyone I know owns LBP & inFamous. The other games suck(In my opinion).

For the German market, InFamous and Dead Nation will be replace with Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings in the selection of PS3 games.
For the German market, Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation will be replaced with Everybody’s Golf 2 and Buzz Junior Jungle Party in the selection of PSP games. Killzone Liberation will not offer online gameplay functionality.

Guess what I've just wanted to download...
will i get infamous if i use my US Account?

All of these download games are only available for 30days for when the PSN Store is restored which would be the end of this month.

I got inFamous for free when I bought my PS3.... and Why would I want LBP when there's LBP2?!?! And the rest just suck............

SONY, you COULD'VE convinced me that you are at least trying to make up if you would give out a 2010 game, AT LEAST, or even better, early betas to inFAMOUS 2 or Uncharted 3.

Despite being a**holes, compromising the personal information of millions of users, and Failing to keep up to their own dealines, even now, they are STILL being cheap on us and acting as if their costumers are an impotent child, thinking we will forget and forgive them just by giving out freebies that are absolutely useless.

I used to love SONY. Kaz, suck my d---8..............>---ICK!!.

Not good enough. What is Sony doing to secure our data? Why isn't the rest of the worlds sony customers afforded the same decency as the US with its free Identity theft protection?

And lastly why hasn't Sony set up a report fraud service??????

1. They had our personal data and failed to protect it. It wouldn't have been so bad if it was actually encrypted.

2. They had Linux removed just because they felt like it and don't come at me with "well that's biznez" because there's a difference between doing business and take something the user paid for away. (came with the console therefore it is included in the price).

3. Suing the wrong people, while Geohot, Fail0verflow and Graf were trying to bring back Linux, you see all these dongles ***gots making money out of piracy without proper support or guarantees.

4. Initial system release was faulty and it would stop working after 3 years, also it was not a user mistake, it was due to bad cooling paste that didn't even have lead in it.

5. Faulty and unreliable blu-ray drives.

6. They take out retro-compatibility.

7. 600$ for that same faulty system.

8. No info/lies about the attacks unless pressured, while the users were without knowing and worried.

9. Oh and, did I mention that warranty? More like lack thereof. 90 days wasn't enough and when the units stopped working massively they should've done something to fix/replace them instead of coming with the warranty bull.

Yes they owed us, big time.

I don't actually have any of the freebie games but I can't disagree with you there. Just wish I had stuck with CFW and not 'upgraded' now....
