  • CVOS v3.1 BETA - Recover Your Bricked PS3 Console

If you've had the misfortune of bricking your PS3 console, either with waninkoko's original custom firmware or by other means, an app has arrived that will revive your bricked console. CVOS v3.1 will analyze and correct your flawed firmware and bring your console back to life. Unfortunately this is only for the technical minded, as it requires the installation and use of a NAND reader.

    Attachment 969

    Download: CVOS-3.1-BETA.rar (84.18 KB)

    Features

    - Check and analyze the dump correcting the flaws that have this and thus repairing the internal firmware of our PS3.
    - It can extract the various files that make up the core of our PS3 (read lv2_kernel.self, eurusfw.bin, etc …).
    - Lets look at both full NAND Dumps as desenciptados CORE_OS_PACKAGE.pkg packages provided to analyze your files.
    - Finds and extracts the User Profile (EID, bootloaders, etc) the dump interlaced with the flow rebuilder.

    Requirements

    - Full Dump and PS3 NAND memory reader, Version 3.55

Now only if we could bring back functional BD drives after downgrading, I'm still waiting for that.

Wasn't there a method for that?

When I installed kmeaw I didn't get any bluray problems. In fact I was watching one perfectly last week :/ maybe it's a random problem. But this is good news anyway

Only people who own a NAND Flasher can use this software.
Needless to say it's almost useless.

Maybe to you... This software will save a lot of PS3s now if the people are lazy and want everything given to them in one go then that's a different story.

I'm sure you can get a NAND flasher pretty easily and do it yourself with a little tutorial (when there is one), after all... What else are you going to lose anyways? LOL

I bet this will come as great news to some! Previously it would require expensive Sony software/kit/knowledge to do this, but with this tool it opens it up to a lot more people. Yeah sure the average user may not be able to take advantage of this, but it'll make it easier for people to find some one who can (me for example :P).

.....sooooo in other words this "tool" is just shy of completely of oh let's say, extracting all core files from the NAND and reflashing the drive and installing whatever FW, CFW or MFW a person wants?

I get bringing a PS3 back from the dead...but in between lines, seems like a point to other avenues as well.

If it is used to flash the ps3 , then someone could make this a downgrade...I think
