In case you did not know, long time member and our newest moderator, BahumatLord had released a Custom Cheat PKG Disc. Well, as promised, he has released the first of many updates to the "disc". With this update, you will now be able to see which cheats are included with the individual PKGs.

Added info about what each cheat pkg does and also info about if you need to do anything special to get it to work. Keep in mind that it is an extremely limited amount of space under each icon so I had to abbreviate in some cases

Old Style:

Killzone 2 (PAL).pkg

New Style:

Killzone 2 (PAL)
Infinite Ammo
Infinite Grenades
Move files to BXES00081

Normally most of these pkg files will install an icon to the xmb. There are some that don't. If you don't see an icon then it is an UPDATE pkg. Just run your game like normal after installing.

The cheat pkg files that do install a new icon the XMB you'll install the pkg, boot the game backup from multiMAN and load the game from the new icon - not the disc icon.

If you look at the last line above for the new style it says Move files to BXES00081. What that means is you need to move the contents of the game backup's USRDIR (minus the EBOOT.BIN) to dev_hdd0/game/BXES00081/USRDIR

As promised this is a very small update. The original download was about 1 GIG. This update is only 33 KB but it should make things clearer for everyone

Requirements: You will need both the main download and the update download. If you downloaded the main file before, then there's no need to do it again.

Installation: Extract the contents of CHET12345-01.rar. Copy the PS3_EXTRA folder into the cheat disc folder. You should be prompted to overwrite. Overwrite everything.

**UPDATE 2**: Added Tekken 6 (PAL AND NTSC) and Midnight Club Los Angeles Complete Edition (NTSC). - Add this the same way as UPDATE 1. For now these new icons will appear at the bottom of the list. When there is a fair number of updated cheat pkg files then I will fix the sort order.

Installation: Do the same thing as the installation for UPDATE 1. You will need both updates for the time being

There was some additional news that came out of this update. I did all of these corrections by hand with a hex editor. There was a problem with the SFO editors that prevented the use of the return key for a line break. Windows uses 0D 0A (hex values) for the return key. The PS3 uses only 0A. After completion of the update I contacted aldostools to see if he would correct the SFO editor to make things easy in the future.

He did fix this issue and also fixed the display of Registered/Trademark/Copyright logos. Before if you had to change the display resolution of SFO files with these symbols you would get a black screen when trying to launch the game. What was going on if these symbols were in place or if there was a line break/return key in the title it would corrupt the SFO. Now it's working 100%.

I suggest that anybody who uses his SFO editor do an update.

No problem guys. Glad you're getting some use out of it. Since this is being hosted on PSX-Scene's file repository we're not dependent on file hosts so the links should never go down. Dead links was a big part of the reason I did this

Dont't know if it's temporary or here on my pc locally,but the link to the project thread seams dead. Upon a search i see only articles wich points to the same dead link.

OK the only problem that I have with this is that I have to have the games on my internal hdd to work. Everytime to try to play a game from my external drive it tells me intall the game on my internal. Am i doing something wrong?

@ramosxtreme - You should only be told to install the pkg files to internal. There's 3 or 4 games that need files moved to dev_hdd0/game folders but it's about 1% of the game cheats on there. Are you using external game data loader?

@RUT Dark Ronin - I'm against cheating against another player but some of them are designed to prevent farming for money, skill points etc. Those I like so you can just play the game and enjoy the story without spending hours in the same place building your character to beat the next area

Couldn't agree more bahumatlord, i like many other older gamers with jobs, kids, lives, etc just don't have time to grind for 40+ hours to beat a 20 hour game etc, so for me personally i say thanks & can't wait to see what the future brings for us cheaters!

Yeah I can´t believe everyone that complains about cheats. It´s not like YOU are forced into using them. Cheats can give some games a complete new dimension and offer a lot of more fun hours of game time. As long as the cheats are used offline in single player, who gives a f**k? Shouldn´t it be up to everyone to decide in which way they want to play their games? Well there will always be whiners..

Lol, this is almost like when people are complaining about other people who is requesting subtitles to a movie. They are always getting comments like "don´t you understand English??", "didn´t you go to school?", "don´t you have ears?". Jeez, try to watch a movie with 10 people in the couch and ask them to shut the f**k up 52 times because you can´t hear what they are saying. Or even worse, try to watch a movie with Stallone without subs.. :P

CFW, the only way for us to install custom PKGs, and run backup discs like this one.
