PSX-SCENE Forum Discussion for Sony PlayStation/PsOne/PS2/PS3/PSP/PS VITA
  • Condor Updater v2.0

Developer and the original multiMAN theme guru CondorStike is back today with a brand new app for your JB or CFW PS3 consoles, the Condor Updater v1.0. This handy app lets you access a pseudo-Recovery Menu of the System Firmware Update, all from the comfort of your XMB.

This has been tested with Rogero CFW and Kmeaw, but should work with all. CondorStrike also adds that it may work for downgrading your 3.55+ consoles, as well as work on the PSP and PS Vita systems: all these things have not been tested, so they may work or may not. And remember, use at your own risk!

Hi guys, I bring you a new PS3 app, Condor Updater v1.0.

This app allows pseudo-recovery mode system firmware update from xmb.
I've tested it with Rogero CFW and Kmeaw, but should work with any Firmware that allows the PKG to install.
No more hold down power crap...lol.

If anyone wants to try on 3.55+ to try and downgrade, my answer is try it...what's there to lose...:P
It should also work on PSP and PS VITA, but I haven't tested.
I think this is a very handy app, and as always, I hope you enjoy my releases...caw!
    Installation:
    • Install PKG.
    • Run Condor Updater.
    • PROFIT!!!
    Disclaimer:
I am not liable if this application disables or damages your console and or handheld, use at your own risk.

very nice, at the same time developer boasts that he developed such a nice app, and then he says tha use it at your own risk, and he is not liable. Nice.

to my opinion it has to be tested thoroughly, so that everyone will be sure that everything will be ok on peoples consoles...

If you checkout the thread on tortuga he has now stated that it will only work on NOR flash, tho' no results on downgrading there is reports on Pesudo recovery working on some FW types.
I would say, unless it can downgrade its only usefull if you (or your PS3's powerbutton) are disabled.. or swap FW often (VERY often)

To use at own riskwould be any testers condition when dealing with free software, so i dont see the fuzz.
The fact that its stated should make you evaluate the risk, if you got nothing to loose - Do it, if you are having doubts - wait and read reviews then reevaluate.
If you want any liability on software you usually have to buy it !

deank mentioned something on another site that might get this or another app (?) working for Nand flash, also downgrading with QA flag and this should work for 3.55 (possible 3.56) as QA flag downgrade requires Recovery Mode/Menu.

Now if only i had a way to QA flag my 3.56 slim i'd give it a go, but untill now i have only soft-modded as paying for hw as been a bit against my pricipal, id rather donate to a usefull/promising open sourced project.

.....But as hw does costmoney, and a downgrade tool is reusable as the hw remains im considering a 360-clip 56 and Progskeet
