The team behind the CobraUSB has announced today the release of their latest dongle firmware, version 4.0. New to this version, is the ability to play PSP games in ISO format. Although still being worked on, and not being able to save yet; it is reported that some games are at least running at full speed. Also updated is the new version cobraflash, which will be more secure than the previous version.

Cobra Firmware v4.0

- Added initial support to play PSP games in iso format. Please read the user manual for instructions.
The emulator is not perfect and it currently fails in saving/loading data, but there are several games playable at full speed. We've fixed some bugs in the emulator, and it loads now more games that it originally did. In the future, we will continue to improve the compatibility of the emulator and fix the savedata issue.

- A new version of cobraflash has been released, and is required to install firmware 4.0, that uses a new format. You can find it in the download section. Drivers remain the same, there is no need to update them.
New update format is more secure against bad writes, and it will be compatible with cobra updater for PS3 which will be released along with firmware 4.1.

i got m 360 out of it's looong sleep .... now gonna flash it wid LT+2.0 and enjooooy all da new F***g titles ..... F*************k [P S 3] .... i hate turtles walk ! btw , how much dis d*********n thing ? lol

I know but I was referring to what a coincidence it is. It's almost like they hold back a little then when "we" catch up slightly they release something "revolutionary". Good way to keep sales up. Truth is, if all the developers released their knowledge regarding the PS3 we would be getting along just fine. The scene would be more advanced but everyone is still hiding in the shadows whispering "secrets" to one another in fear of dreaded Sony. And if it's not Sony then it's top level developers telling the up and comers to STFU / release and be an outcast.

thats bs... the devs can just release stuff on the pirate bay, 100% anonymous. the whole lawsuits thing only applies when they give away their real names like geohot, or release stuff on youtube or ask for paypal donations.

I know what you mean, but i just wanted to point out that a PS1 emulator wasnt found using Multiman. The PS1 emulator has been in every PS3 models since day one, they are all backward compatible with PS1 games

Hey thats your opinion, doesnt make mine "bs". And no it does not only apply in those situations. Its the internet, anyone can be found given you throwenough money at it. And its not about the Dev themselves being scared of their safety, its about the scene itself. Remember when geohot hacked the hypervisor, and Sony removed OtherOS? Everyone fears a repeat of that,

got it in one, i think the scene devs are so scared that all they can do is release dos games as they are terrified of sony's wrath, the ps3 scene will never progress at this rate.

Actually no. I can make it impossible to find me in just 4 steps... Just from the top of my head.

1/Get a wifi adapter with it's own MAC address which i ONLY use for releaseing PS3 scene content.
2/Have a laptop/computer's "computer name" and username random letters/numbers.
3/Either use my city's public wifi which is through the entire city, or just go to a public wifi spot, they are everywhere these days.
4/Upload all the PS3 scene content at the public wifi spot.

That makes it impossible for anyone to track me. If I can think of this, the devs who are much more intelligent than me can too.

I'm doubtful it will work. I'm finding that about one out of ten games work at all on this release. Still working on a compatibility list. Please PM me if you've know first hand of any games that work/don't work.

there are billions of dollars worth of stuff on the pirate bay... they have been threatened with dozens of lawsuits... from sony included. why would they suddenly make an exception and for the first time in their history cooperate with sony?? their reputation would be ruined.. and it would set a precedent for further leaking of uploaders info.

so like i said, it's bs.

Ultimate ghosts n goblins - working, but runs at double, or even quadruple speed! Damn shame too, this is the one
Game I've been waiting a long time to play on ps3.

Killzone Liberation - freezes upon loading

Castlevania chronicles - runs perfectly except for slowdown when levels are loading

R-type command - runs perfectly

I believe they are all running at 1080p, I don't know how the cobra team does it, but they are now my new heroes. Move over Dean, there's a new sheriff in town. No disrespect to Dean, he's still great!
