CobraUSB Firmware v4.0

The team behind the CobraUSB has announced today the release of their latest dongle firmware, version 4.0. New to this version, is the ability to play PSP games in ISO format. Although still being worked on, and not being able to save yet; it is reported that some games are at least running at full speed. Also updated is the new version cobraflash, which will be more secure than the previous version.

Cobra Firmware v4.0

- Added initial support to play PSP games in iso format. Please read the user manual for instructions.
The emulator is not perfect and it currently fails in saving/loading data, but there are several games playable at full speed. We've fixed some bugs in the emulator, and it loads now more games that it originally did. In the future, we will continue to improve the compatibility of the emulator and fix the savedata issue.

- A new version of cobraflash has been released, and is required to install firmware 4.0, that uses a new format. You can find it in the download section. Drivers remain the same, there is no need to update them.
New update format is more secure against bad writes, and it will be compatible with cobra updater for PS3 which will be released along with firmware 4.1.

I just tried Ultimate Ghost n Goblins. It actually runs faster than it should, so there are timing issues.Will try more, and report back. Any requests?

It's just down right not fair. Whoever has a cobra is just uber goddamn lucky as hell. And just weeks away from Final Fantasy Type-0's release in Japan. You'll be able to play it on the ps3 if you have this.It's just not fair. I can't get over it. I'm still baffled how nobody has yet to figure out how they get these features working. I know over at ps3hax there is a topic about it. But it doesn't seem like anyone is even trying. It's madness...we just need those features in Multiman...then we'd be set.

Cool, I am proud to own the cobra usb. Got mine from slickgate, but now they changed the domain to slickdoor.com

lol not fair? how so? because you're not getting it for free? you're already not paying for your games so fork over the money to buy the cobra if you want to play your downloaded psp games so bad on your ps3..

first they come out with ps2 emulator, and now a psp emulator, i think the cobra team know something we certainly don't, we found the ps1 emulator by accident via multiman, i wonder if we can find the other stuff and get it working somehow but we forget how lazy the ps3 scene is so we may get some sort of emulator in say the next 10 years or so with 1 frame per second, enjoy your dos homebrew peeps!

No they haven't made any emulators at all. All the cobra team has done is found a way to tap into the emulators that are already built into the ps3 , any other dev could do this as well it's just a matter of time, i just can't belive how slow the ps3 scene is ( homebrew and piracy) it has to be one of the slowest scenes i have ever been apart of, i sure do miss the original xbox scene days.

I think its all the political and lawsuit threats going around, Sony is determined to keep us under the thumb. But all this means is, that devs just aren't going public with their findings, not that they aren't working on it. I believe oneday soon someone will come out of no where and have 101 new things in their pocket they have been building up for a grand release. Then all the people who were saying the scene is dead will be the first to scream they knew it all along...
