We last reported the Cobra USB with multiMAN integration here. Yesterday the Cobra team had released an update for the Cobra USB bringing it to version 4.3. Some fixes have been made to reduce black screen games and even a consumer request has been met. Other additions have also been made to their version of multiMAN. Read below for the full changelog.

07 - 12 - 2011:

Increased the compatibility of games in JB directory format (fix for the so called black screen games, that were only working in iso format). In Cobra USB, you don't need to set any special option or key combination in multiman for these games to work, just start them normally. Unlike in regular CFW, in Cobra USB these games work also in internal hdd.
At the request of customers, vsh.self of Cobra USB CFW can now be replaced by the ReactPSN one (only by the one of 3.55k folder) without loosing any Cobra functionality.

Multiman for Cobra 03.01.00 changelog:

Improved loading of PSP ISO files when no disc is inserted
Added option "Detect Game Title in ISO Images" to allow using ISO filenames and *not* scan for game names in local database
Improved scanning for retro roms/iso and covers (populating the Retro column)
Support for ICON0.PNG for PSP ISO in Retro column
Support for cover art for PS2 ISO/CUE+BIN in Retro column
Support for cover art for PSX CUE+BIN in Retro column and for PSX discs
New THEME format (.thm). One theme - one file. Easy installation within mmCM without going to XMB to install theme pkg files.
mmTM - Easy to use PC application to create thm files from folders (separate download).
mmCM will try to read disc volume labels and display in VIDEO column (BD/DVD entry) and in other display modes.
>>> ISO images created from such discs (BD/DVD/AVCHD) will get the disc volume label as file name for the ISO.
Fixed extracting ICON0.PNG from PSP ISO images saved on external USB drives
Added indication (rotating refresh icon next to the column icon) when mmCM is loading/extracting title thumbnails (XMMB mode)
Added support for PSX/PS2/PSP covers when browsing drives/folders in Retro column
Added pop-up notifications when new versions of mmCM, CobraUSB firmware and Showtime are available for download
Added pop-up notification when running low on disc space (less than 1GB on internal HDD)
Added pop-up notification when mmCM successfully connects to nethost folders during startup (/net_host# in File Manager)
Added support for downloading themes in a background thread (pop-up messages will notify user when download starts and completes)
Added support for copying big (4+GB) files in File Manager to USB drives. mmCM will split source file when copying to USB.
Added "Copy" function to SIDE menu for BD/DVD/PS2/PSP/PS3 ISO images (supports joining and splitting depending on source and destination drives)
Changed option "Link Video Library to Showtime" - it will only create links for XMB Video files, but will not start Showtime
Added shortcuts to BDISO and DVDISO folders when browsing internal HDD in VIDEO column (shown as "Blu-ray Video (ISO)" and "DVD Video (ISO)"
Added support for Blu-ray and DVD covers when browsing drives/folders in VIDEO column (for BD/DVD ISO files)
Added shortcut (virtual folder) "XMB Video Files" when browsing HDD/USB drives in VIDEO column
Easier overall access to BD/DVD/PSX/PS2/PSP/PS3 ISO/BIN images/folders in XMMB and XBDM display modes (when browsing drives/folders)
Added "Showtime Font Preference" option to select 10 different fonts for SHOWTIME media player (GUI and Subtitles)
Added "Extract ISO" option in SIDE menu for PS3 ISO images (to convert ISO games to folder format).

Man if cobra and trueblue teamed up and made a dongle that had the features of both , then i would buy the hell out of it!

i wouldn't, you know why? because all these features should be available for FREE if people keep on buying these dongles then everyone is supporting this ££greedy$$ behavior.

Yeah i know EVENTUALLY these features might be available in a cfw, but until then these dongles are the only option we have to get these features now so if they did combined these features in to one dongle i find it worth wild and worth my money. I know not everyone see's it that way but i do.

If you spent all of your time making a program don't u want a piece of the cake? If not plz care to explain why would you work for free then I'm all ears

hackers do not ask for money, they just do what they do because they need to.
like mathieu, kakaroto, etc.
trueblue team is making money with piracy.
i do hope someone crack that trublue thing as soon as possible.
piracy will remain, but at least no one will get rich with that.

I agree, If you do it (hack,phreak or any reverse engineering) it's because you love to do it not to make money.
If you want money for your work then work for them (SONY, MICROSOFT, APPLE etc...)
Cuz if not your just a thief stealing from them then stealing from us(who then steal from them, hehehehe).
And that's all i have to say about that.

Im sorry dude but I have to disagree with you on that... these guys dont wanna work for free and I don't blame them. Would you work for a company for free? Well its the same thing.. yeah it enables piracy sure it does... but so does cfw they have the right to charge what they want to charge... people are buying the dongles... and you dont know when the next cfw will come out... if it was me I would do the same thing they are doing... you have to understand many hackers have different views.. you have to respect that they are making money right now.

I wish I was a hacker I would make my own dongle oh well

The fact is we got this far, because of people that worked for FREE. Geohot (who got sued), graf_chokolo (who is beeing sued), Fail0werfl0w (who shared their findings/tools), Deank AND manny more, all worked for free. Heck even the game releasers are working for free. Do you see a pattern here (if not look closer)?

What TB/Cobra noobs are doing (which is only possible because of people before them worked for free) are just replacing Sony as your new masters.

Yet, offcourse people are happily using free scenes tools and game releases that got coded/released for FREE. Those tools/games are not for you!

TRUE! but these company's ( true blue/cobra) have added and built apon what the free hackers did, they actually are doing stuff that the free hackers are yet to do, and if they wanted to be paid for it , then so be it.

Which was either stolen from a Sony repair center and replicated or only possible because of Geohots work..

And you would still be playing your little FW 3.41 games ONLY, if there werent for people that worked for free (and paid hell to get here).

Like I said over at the Cobra forum. This update was basically useless...except for the ReactPSN feature which I don't even know how to really do. I saw a few tutorials but none even speak about Cobra...and it has to do with tons of files, pressing buttens and something to do with the vsh file.

Dude since when has there been a 3.55 cfw? In almost a year right? 3.56+ Firmware was out in January give it up. Hence why nobody is sticking their neck out on the lines anymore. Like Bitsbubba said people was crying and complaining for a solution of playing some of the newer games but when they have to pay for something they wanna complain and I don't see why times has changed. If you wanna be on the I wanna wait for another cfw team be my guest... you are going to be waiting a pretty long time 2012 is RIGHT around the corner. I have my 2 ps3's and I gotta tell you playing newer games are so much better than playing older ones. MW3 is alot better playing online than by yourself or worse Xlink Kai or whatever... the ps3 will NEVER be like a modded xbox. If you cant play backups and online then its doesn't mean shit. I barely play my jail-broken ps3. To be honest the true blue dongle sounds better than a new cfw... with a new cfw people could brick their system remember the Wanky cfw? I respect these guys... making money in a time like this don't knock these guys for their achievements if it was so EASY to reverse engineer a true blue dongle there would of been a fix by now...Who side are you people on? All I see is Anti-Sony, And free handout members of the ps3 scene gosh I hope a real dev don't see this oh yeah I forgot many of them gave up on the ps3 scene

Did i say anything about me wanting a new CFW (FYI i still use FW 3.41 with Minimus dongle, and even if a new CFW comes ill still be using it, EBOOT editing FTW)?

I have my PS3, Xbox 360 (Jtag v1 the original deal) and PC, so NO im not missing anything out. For you to even mention the biggest game scam allive, tells me much about you (what release it is now 6th or 7th of the same shit). Never went pass Call Of Duty 2 (PC days) and its gonna stay that way.

NOT everyone (including me) plays online. The scene provides you with a way to backup your own games and play them (thats what every scene so far is doing). If i "have to" sacrifice online play to do so (since i only play co-op split screen games), i have no problem with it (you cant have your cake and eat it as well).

But to pay some third party hacker for their DRM just to play my games is a NONO (that money would be best spend helping people that stuck their "necks" out for us). Not to those that benifited from the people that stuck their necks out.

That my be, but not in a way where you are locked down to only one sollution, which is only possible because people before you released their findings. Hence why i am still on OFW 3.41 with a Minimus dongle.

Credit is given where credit is due. If what they did was possible whitout the findings of people who "stuck" their necks out (or use tools that are available/coded because of that) i would be thinking diffrently.

Did they even release their own manager or CFW (whitout using the MFW tool)?
NO they just assumed you can use the existing ones, just because they are available..

Im on the side of the people, that frees me from Sonys grasps and returns back the control of the hardware which i bought. Not third party hackers that replaced Sony with their own DRM and trying to profit off it...

In the long run Sony still comes out on top whether people stop buying their consoles there will be a ton of people that will and FYI MW3 still is a top selling game (meaning) people will buy what they want to buy. I can say it a million times I have no problem with Sony or how they do things. Like I have no problem with true blue or cobra no matter how hard you try to justify yourself those three are still going to make money regardless.
