Cobra USB Firmware and Manager Update ver 4.1 + PS3 Updater ver 1.0

Team Cobra USB has announced today the release of their new firmware and manager, both now at version 4.1. This is firmware for the dongle, not to be confused with new firmware for the PS3. Although there is a new application also released, that allows you update the Cobra USB dongle via the PS3 (if your dongle is already on 4.0+), Cobra USB PS3 Updater version 1.0. The new features revolve mainly around updated PSP support, including PSP savedata support, but you can read the official announcement for yourselves below.

25 - 10 - 2011

- New firmware update, mainly focused on improving PSP support.

- Improved compatibility with psp games. Some of the games that crashed early now run.

- Added support for PSP savedata. Please note that in the previous release, savedata worked for isos that were generated from psp minis games. However, those savedata are incompatible with this new firmware. You can see psp savedatas under the ps3 savedata section in the XMB, not under the minis one.
If savedata still doesn't work in some game, please send us a message to our support email address.

- Cobra USB Manager will now give an error when trying to load a prometheus patched PSP iso, as those aren't compatible with the PSP emulator.

- Added Cobra USB PS3 Updater to the download section. With this tool you can update the dongle using the PS3, require Cobra Firmware 4.0+ to work. Refer to the manual for instructions..

hmm Well the PSP games I got are patched for "all" cfw including Prometheus so not too sure if they mean that either. Also mine are not "mini's" o.o So I'm a bit confused there. But seeing better save or "full" save data support for psp games is amazing to see...especially since I just ordered Cobra last night. This is good to hear.

I wouldn't doubt that's on their list and probably not the hokey way JB2 did it

Also I wanted to ask...um about PSP games. Do they actually have to be CFW patched?...Or can they be unpatched and still be played on Cobra? I ask because I really couldn't find a confirmation anywhere.

I believe they recommend all unpatched

Hell yes, no more "connection error with device" error while updating to PC and raging after trying to update for 10 mins each time they release an update. The PS3 updater works perfect.And nice, more PSP games. I just hope bitsbubba's prediction comes true now, although I'm tempted to just get a new slim for legit use in a few weeks.

Even if they do use the JB2 method I see disc-less as they now mount iso's with no problem

Sorry do not understand. What is ATM? I do not need usb cobra? So just need to put the iso into the hd? I put in that folder? multiman open with? Which cfw should I use? Please respond with traditional English. I use translator. (my ps3 is a model with 4 usb FAT 3.55 Kmeaw) Thank you
