Here is a little nice tool that has been recently released. Just like the version spoofer this tool allows you to spoof your PS3's MAC address. The app is called Chaos Air Bringer.

Here is how to install it.

This little tool lets you do some magic in your máquina.Te to change the MAC address FOREVER, easy, huh?

Procedure:
———

1 º) Make a hard drive or flash drive / external, for example, into any USB port (the application takes care of searching alone).

2 º) Now you have 2 options:
a – Do not put any files on the USB drive. In this case, the program will use a special MAC address (Air Base).
b – Now put a file called “mac.bin,” This file will be your new mac. You need to put in binary format
6 bytes of your new Mac, for example, DE 11 00 11 4A.

3 º) Install the application, and throw.

4 º) The program will make a backup of your old Mac USB drive as “mac_original.bin.”
Remember to keep the backup in a safe place before launching the program again, but will be overwritten by the current modified (mac.bin), otherwise perhaps could be lost forever ….

5 º) We hope that the program returns to the XMB or to restart the system.
If restart automatically, restart it manually from PS3, you’ll forever change your mac.

6 º) That’s it!

NOTES:

a) It is necessary to use SS patches enabled to use if you have no SS patches lv1 possibly block access to these services
b) If the program can not make a backup of your old mac, red LED flashes.
c) If the program can not change your mac, the LED will be off (if you reboot your machine back to the green LED)
d) If the program can make a backup or Mac LED flashes green.
d) If the program can change your Mac to leave the LED green off and then after a few seconds, if you can not let him off.
e) This proven and tested by the team, we are not responsible for the misuse of it to this tool.
f) Do not change the value in the RAM (lv1, lv2 vsh), the change is real.
g) can be modified in a custom firmware to official firmware update and will remain unchanged.
h) This application will be a plugin for 3.41 DH JFW

USES:

The Mac is a real change, has many uses, such as:

- Make funny videos stupid “new firmware”, without hiding your Mac (use stupid, aim well, a lot of people are stupid and live in dark places …).

- Make legitimate video of something and do not want your mac to appear.

- Fool your Mac to get wireless connections are authorized mac list, and use of this wireless connection (yes, Air Carrier of Chaos).
- A large number of uses of imagination … that sometimes can not use.

About the source code, which is a very easy to do, you only need to use your brain, or vice versa (it is easy).

ok so why do i want to change my mac address? does that mean you can get around a ban if you change your mac address? its not like we can get on psn with cfw anyways

changing the mac alone wont get a banned system back on psn for this you need to change your console id and psid i believe stoker25 released a tool to do this only problem with it is that its change is not permanant
i belive there may be uses for this a tad down the line as of now its uses are rather limited

maybe now its a little useless, but some day if someone find how to connect to psn (like psp) or when a new cfw will be released, u will be happy that this tool was made

funny thing though i though your console id was really just a hash of a bunch or other id's so then if you were to change the mac address and the mac was part of thr the id's that were factored into the hash value, the if you were to change the mac ,then wouldnt that change the hash value ,and console id?obviously it dont like that , but,then how does it, work? i dont think anyone really knows, or does is the console id hash there to verify that the mac is right, and that the other values that make up the hash are right? either way i dont see why you want to change your mac?

Isn't it literally a single line of code to change the MAC address? On PC it's retardedly simple to change.

Bravo. Now you can hopefully set your console ID and the mac address. Has any one tested this combination?

I doubt it. The only reason it is so easy to do on a pc is because the function is built into your OS.

But yeah, i cannot even begin to imagine a use for this. The only real use for spoofing a mac address is to connect to a network you don't have permission to connect to. I cannot imagine too many people doing that with their ps3.

With this you should be able to unban your console. I really don't figure a lot of people will use this but you never know.

I love how people say stuff without fully understanding it, No this doenst unban ur console. but it does let you leech your neighbors wifi :3 if they happen to ban your mac address before

if you cant think a use for this than your a dum a$$ you shouldn't be on this scene. if we come up with the pass phrase we can get online ... using this and the other program the dude talked about in the 3 or forth comment if you get ban this allows u to spoof ur mac address like we spoof the frim ware. so their for banning consoles for sony wont make sense. so we can stay online with out worrying about being band having programs to hide us and keep sony blind to the use of new cfw ... cfw makers need to inter-grad this into their new cfw.............also we to add these programs together that where talked about here good shit dude people as long as i can think of wanted this. .......thank you for your hard work and for sharing it with us even though sum of us is dum a$$es lol

Uh, no. Your mac address never leaves your private network. No one across the internet can ever find your mac address. It is ONLY used for connecting to a private network.

And it has been possible to unban a console from psn since january or february.

There are a few reasons to spoof a mac address:
1) connecting to a network in which your mac address has been specifically banned.
2) connecting to a network in which only registered mac addresses can connect to.
3) hacking private networks.

Naturally this can be quite useful if you need to get online with your laptop, and there are no unsecured networks around. However, for a game system which probably doesn't ever leave your house, and if it does, it's just to go to a friend's house, or maybe school to play between classes, and thus is either not going online, or will have permission to be online, there is really no use for this.

After reading the instructions again I have to say to much work just to but my name as the MAC address. So yeah its pretty much useless for the average user.

Says the person who has problems differentiating between forms of "your". Though, to be fair, second grade was hard.

Ah, you are correct. Although the MAC address is not usually seen outside your network, isn't it conceivable that Sony would be able to use it as another console id?

I thought the trouble with unbanning is that there's a whitelist of console ids. I wouldn't know I don't go online and have never been banned.

No, there has never been any trouble involved in unbanning a console. Not that it even really matters since almost no one has been banned anyway, except a handful of game cheaters, who deserve their bans anyway. Besides, we cannot even get on psn, so who even cares?

If you are uncapping your cable connection, it is necessary to change all macs (eth, cpe, nic, usb) each time you inject new certs to the modem. Before this tool, your ps3 would leave traces due to its static mac. Now with this, you can change it accordingly, thus more stealth. I agree it will gain even more use if access to psn is restored.
