  • BDP GUI Firmware Decrypter Released – Decrypt/Encrypt Blu Ray Firmware Drivers

A developer named turusele has released a GUI for decrypting Blu-Ray Disc Player firmware drivers. The app is based off of the work of RichDevX and SeRoCuLtO, who originally developed the decrypter. The app will allow you to easily decrypt/encrypt the updated firmware drivers contained in the official Sony PUP files. Which in turn will allow you to start dissecting the functions of the Blu Ray player to help better understand and modify it.

Thanks to turusele who has made this GUI version of the software BDP Firmware Decrypter which was originally developed by RichDevX and SeRoCuLtO. This is basically a Windows app that will work on x86 or x64. This tool will allow you to easily decrypt/encrypt the updated firmware drivers contained in the PUP files. Basically, this will allow you to start dissecting the functions of the Blu Ray to help better understand them and modify them.

Awesome! but what has that got to do with decrypting firmware drivers?
anyway... this is good news, just gives us more control over the console! not sure what will arise from this though.. but we shell see

could this perhaps lead to a quicker/faster way to re-marry BD-ROM via firmware perhaps?

EDIT: oh and perhaps a way to re-marry in 3.56+ or even re-marry without downgrade?

I just did it for a buddy and I did it on my system. Power off your system. Then just hold the power button down until the system beeps twice. Then power it on. It will start the system restore. then plug your usb with CFW 3.55 and update on that usb.. and whola!! you are back to 3.55. That easy.
