Sometimes I come across news that might seem irrelevant at the time and then realize that many here might find it useful to them. So today I report the following that will please those playing Battlefield 3 and who are annoyed by the scorching "sunlight" glare emitted by the tactical flashlight weapon. A patch that will be released to reduce this annoyance. Read below...

DICE applied some... let's call it UNUSUAL logic to the tactical flashlight weapon attachment in its just-released Battlefield 3. That logic being: generally speaking, flashlights should be bright enough to scorch the average human retina. You know what I'm talking about if you've played BF3's multiplayer; it's ridiculous.
The good news is, DICE hears you. The team may not have a full grasp of light wave physics, but they're willing to learn. Battlefield 3 will be patched and the over-effectiveness of the tac flashlights will be cut down. That's what core gameplay designer Alan Kertz said during the Don't Revive Me Bro podcast (via PC Gamer); he later followed up his promise with a tweeted image revealing what the patched lens flare effect will look like (above).
This article was going to be published last night but I suppose tough luck when while I was writing it, psx-scene went down for maintenance. So NO flaming!
