PS3 Developer Nathan_r32_69 know for some of his previous works such as PKG/SPKG Tools,PUAD GUI & SEN Enablers, has stop by our forums today giving us a new Tool/PC App called: PS3 PUP's Syscon Changer v1.2. USE WITH CAUTION ONLY FOR CFW For all the details check the official release quote below from Nathan_r32_69.

Hi friends, i'm here again with a new tool to make it easy another task, this time to change PUP's core_os version, for for example, install a lower PUP on higher firmware, like Downgrader PUPs does

USE IT WITH CAUTION
ONLY FOR CFW

Improvements v1.2

Improved code
Fixed all issues
Added executable file to install keys

Instructions

Execute "Keys Installer"
Execute "PS3 PUP's Syscon Changer" file
Choose PUP file
Choose syscon version
Press "Start"
If all is fine you will have a file named "NEW-PS3UPDAT.PUP"

Hope you will find this tool useful and contact me if you see any issue, meanwhile i'll back to finish SEN Enabler v5.0 and other researchs

This means that for example if I want to install 1.0 firmware on a PS3 which supports >2.40 I may use this tool to change PUP's syscon?

NO. It will either fail or brick your system. Never go back farther than your PS3 shipped with because of different mother board revisions

However, if you wanted to install 3.55 on 4.21 custom firmware, take the 3.55 pup and you can change it higher than 4.21 so the PS3 will accept it.

One day I hope to see something like this for ofw to go back to 3.55, until then I'll have to keep saving money to either buy a progskeet or find someone who can do it for me...
Either way seems like it could be a very useful app

it will never happen. we dont have the keys to sign a pup correctly over 3.55 this is why 3.55 cfw can just install on a ofw 3.55 it has the right keys so the ps3 thinks a legit cfw. sony changed the keys after that so we cant make a pup higher then 3.55 that will flash on OFW above 3.55 is because we dont have these keys the new CFW or rather the 3.55 cfw is patched to not care if its a legit sony update, thats why we can write a cfw 4.21 to a cfw'd console but not a ofw above 3.55 thats what that spkg sig check patch is i think

The Rebug 999 downgrader isn't 100% complete or 100% functional. I was on REBUG 4.21 and couldn't downgrade back to 3.55 no matter what with that downgrader (I did to confirm my QA was really Enable or not). I had to use 4.25to3.55.rar (Rogero?) in order to finally downgrade. Now I'm on REBUG 4.21.2 with QA Enable and confirmed.

Gradius I used Rebug 999 downgrader to go from Rogero 4.30 to Rebug 3.55, It is 100% functional. I didn't have QA enabled.

Anyone tested this on that NOTHEROS.PUP? You know, the one used to fix PS3 with RSOD? I don't have my PS3 with flasher right now in case It bricks, but If this did work It would be amazing.

Rebug 999 is 100% functional CFW but it's 3.55 with modified SYSCON and that causes "Data is corrupted" when you try to update through the normal update. So you're SUPPOSED to use it mostly to enable QA FLAG then FIX YOU SYSCON with a QA flagged downgrade.

That goes for any downgrader so as a downgrader, It's 100% functional. This kinda removes the need for any downgrader though, so for those who doesn't like It, yay for you.

I tested with 4.30 PUP and worked for me...
