PSX-SCENE Forum Discussion for Sony PlayStation/PsOne/PS2/PS3/PSP/PS VITA
  • [Update#2] Alphabetical XMB Installer 0.1 Released by _Exeedy_

Update: 2 I have removed the downloads from this release. It has been reported to cause some issues.

There is a brick or semi-brick risk using these flash mods on certain systems so use caution if you have already used it. You would need to reinstall your CFW from recovery menu to fix it. Don't use the deinstaller included as it may contain faulty flash files for your system.

Update: _Exeedy_ has just updated to version 0.2. See details below

_Exeedy_ over at PS3crunch has released an Alphabetical XMB Installer 0.1. This Installer will allow you to organize your XMB icons alphabetically on the XMB. Note this method will only install to the first user account. It is required you use multiMAN to install this mod for the XMB. There has been TuTs and methods previously released to achieve this task. However _Exeedy_ has made some improvements over the previous methods in this release.

Sorts PSN Games alphabetically in XMB!

    NOW UPDATED TO v0.2

    Note: For use with Multiman

Only double click on the .zip file inside the "Installer DEV_FLASH" folder and install it (not extracting)!!!
Now in XMB you can use the entry "Creation Date" and it automatically sorts your games alphabetically..
Works on every user account because its a clean method than the other methods before!

    [UPDATE]

    NOW UPDATED TO v0.2:
Changed "Creation Date" to "Alphabetical A-Z" now it fits better to the XMB (Only available for system languages englisch (us/en) and german
    at the moment)

    v0.1 tested on 4.21+ CFWs

v0.2 only tested with Rogero 4.30 CFW
Should work on other 4.21+ cfws too
    Other languages coming soon!
    Use at your own risk!

I still prefer BahumatLord's explore view mod, just transfer the file to the right folder and you're done. I'm guessing this is just an installer for that annyway.

Yea that is what I have been using since it's release and one of the best mods to date IMO, as to why Sony didn't add that I will never know. Thinking of trying this as it actually changes the XMB to say alphabetical but with all the other mods I have done to the XMB I will stick with what works for me.

I guess thi removes the ability to sort by date then, that's a shame I'd like to keep that as well

Sort games by recently played is always the best option imo. The games your working on beating/ play the most will be a the top, what more could you want than that.

This does more than what it claims to. It broke my "What's New" category on the XMB. It said something about deleting it for the displayed text. When I went to click on it to try to get it to come back up it said it wasn't for my region console.

Even running your deinstaller didn't fix the problem. I had to reinstall my CFW from recovery menu to fix it

I'm on Rebug 4.21 on a US Slim. Maybe you should test more or reveal all modifiations you're doing before posting so nobody bricks messing around with faulty flash mods

Hopefully he can fix it. It is a great concept. All this time I wonder why Sony never fixed this on their end?

Take it easy you two. Both of your comments are going to be moderated until this calms down.

I vote on deleting the thread, devs have been out of control lately!

this seems to have problems ATM, when dealing with flash bricks are a great possibility.

I think all homebrew is "Use at Own Risk", all users need to know what the risks are before trying it out.

I don't know who started what and at this point don't really care.

Further discussion between you two needs to go private (PM)

"DRAMA FREE SITE" and we want to keep it that way.

Thank you and have a nice day

I don't know about deleting, but closing with a firm warning at this point does not seem out of the question.
