They just Removed load FirmWare from media device like flashdrives.
there was a rumor back when 3.56 came out about going into the game folder on your ps3 external or internal. and mod the section of the game with a different firmware in this case portal 2 you need 3.60 to play. ok lets say you go into the vast amount of files in that iso/game and find the 3.60 update and replace it with a lower firmware.. such as 3.55. or for ones still using 3.41.. hell go down to people using the orig. linux. so go down to 3.15 update throw it in there.. im sure its not that easy but hey worth a shot. i'll start messing around with it tonight.

What's all the rush here about? So they have new encryption keys. PSP games had them all the time, only to be defeated by Alex, GEN team, and LovePSN, which you guys are better knowing as F**kPSN. When Dragon Age II and MLB had the Encryption of 3.56 people hacked it, right? No biggie. Besides, Mortal Kombat is not getting that stupid encryption, so i'm good.

But it really sucks L.A. Noire is getting it. I just hope they find a way to bypass this crap before it comes out.

as for the psp scene ..yes , it true dark alex left the scene, but he worked underground in small projects to contribute to the scene when time permitted him to do so, and yet, look how far we have come... there have been more hombrew and more custom firmwares released than ever before. same can be said about the ps3 scene... who needs 6.00m33 ??, when you have 6.38 ME v1 , 6.35 PRO B4, and 6.37 ME v8.

the ps3 scene was never dead , it was only progressing in the shadows, look how far we have come, it has not even been a full year yet, and we have all these custom firmwares, tools, managers, homebrew, backups, etc. the ps3 scene will be alive for many many more years to come, straight into and through the ps3's life cycle.

hackers will never die, they will only die in the eyes of mega corporations( eg; sony) , we hackers will always live , whether it be "underground" or "above ground".

it only a matter of time until someone releases the decryption keys for countless titles.

Like I said.. the scene is just very repetitive that's all... to this day you cant play a burnt blu ray game on your ps3... and it isn't the golden days... hackers wanna be known for it... if you found a cure for cancer and just released it anonymously any body can just take your credit... and also I can guarantee you that someone does have the keys and playing portal 2 right now... most of these hackers don't even get a donation for their hacking ability I'm sorry hate me if you want but if I was a hacker and if I found all of the future things... Id keep it to myself... most hackers stick tier neck out for the people and get nothing in return also if this cfw does gets released it will only prove it was meant for piracy and not for "cough" homebrew

I'm starting to think some of those guys were waiting for 3.60 to appear in the wild. Which has happened now. Let's wait and see.

On topic there was yet another round of Matieulh's "I know, but I won't tell ya, but remember, I knew it, when you discover". If what he said is true, basically, bootloader's private key is calculatable (not that it was needed to decrypt 3.60) which is last line of defence at Sony and according to him, there is a huge hole in it.

How long will it take until someone applies this "knowledge" - erm, could take a while. I recall we still don't have NPDRM keys, even though they are in the firmware.

Seriously dude? Do you even know what your saying?? private servers are supported on PC, because the PC is the one supporting the connection, YOUR PC, and no one else.

On PS3, you will still need to go through PSN to play online, and if we could do that, We wouldn't need Private servers, now would we? Only option I can think of is Xlink Kai.
