First Games Appearing that Require 3.56 Firmware

It really has nothing to do with what games are coming out. Personally I could care less about final fantasy whatever. I'm a huge baseball fan and The Show is always a quality series of games, so I've been looking forward to it. The reason the PS3 hasn't been hacked further is because all of 5 people that actually have talent in hacking the console have been sued. Of those five maybe one doesn't mind piracy and will help hack the PS3 in that direction. Honestly the public talent is severely lacking on the PS3.

The death of scene console groups has led to the death fo talented hacking groups. Now you have a bunch of P2P type morons and lackluster hackers that need to tweet and blog about their progress. If anyone remembers say 10 years ago, only once in a blue moon you had someone being raided. Why? It was because those groups took security very seriously and no one wanted individual credit and fame. Rival groups would work together just to achieve progress, individuals never craved fame, and there was an abundance of talent working together.

Honestly, I can barely think of a project that has involved more than one person when it comes to the PS3. There was fail0verflow's work and psgroove but thats about it. If you want to see real progress on the PS3, people will need to start working together and stop craving attention. Thats my 2 cents. Unfortunately, its a different generation we live in these days.

3.56 will never get cracked. Its not even being worked on since Sony is coming out with 3.60 soon the devs are waiting for that.

To that we should add that 3.56 doesn't need to get cracked. With cfw 3.55 you can play offline online and even the latest games using 3.56 spoof and various pkg's. There is absolutely no reason to hack it why even try?

Why not? In order to run my backup of Dragon Age through 3.55 CFW because that's the only CFW available right now that will run backups. I don't use my original disks as I store those in my safety deposit box for safe keeping.

Meh.....well doesn't matter for me, I decided to go to 3.56 from CFW only because I use Netflix and I already preordered DA II and Skyrim. Also, I got calls from my internet provider about complaints from Sony and they were threatening to cancel my account with them. Don't really need that right now, so I'm gonna wait this out till Geohot vs. Sony is resolved.

I'm still using ofw 3.41 with dongle payload and I am running Dragon Age II right now with a modifed EBOOT.BIN, on external FAT32 HDD. I don't know why you say you need spoof, I'm not using any spoof payloads and its running fine. Back to before cfws appears I remember spoofs were used to quit getting that message from PSN that there is a newer firmware update available. It even enabled online in the begining for about a week or 2. They were kinda useless after Sony blocked the spoof to access online.

I guess its different with the cfws 3.55. Anyone else can confirm this?

i still remember the ps2 xbox days when just about everything released was by a team. I guess I still thought these were teams working together. But you definanly right about this new age of hackers wanting to be known. Just look at any of these guys twitter and there you go. And I also am a huge baseball fan, and the show was my whole reason for buying ps3. Hopefully theres a method soon to at least load retail disc without having to update. I'm not wandering around here, I'm looking for homebrew and emulator related stuff on this site. This site is not only about piracy as you seem to think. This site is about all hacking development regarding the PS3. I have every right to support homebrew and emulator and be anti-piracy.

BUT, the piracy stuff was there TOO with the dongles. So all geohot AND failoverflow did, was to make it possible without a dongle, without doing all the "power off, on-eject" stuff everytime u want to do it.

And to the emulator stuff:
I dont really know why ppl want to play emu's at a console like the PS3 ?
U can play like every emulator on the PC. The only difference is (in most cases) that u can sit on your couch while playing it from a ps3. BUT mostly u get less compatibility and with some emu's less performance, as on a PC.

AND doing emulator stuff, IS piracy too!
As long as u dont play games, which got "free to load" ONLY!

So if u play games that are NOT free to download, that u do the same "sh***" as we do.
Only difference: u prank other companies AND get less grafix from it

just to let you guys know mlb 11 is confirmed working(not by me yet) on multiman 1.15.03
heres what you get
1. Install pkg file included in pkg folder
2. Open up Backup Manager (tested on Multiman 1.15.03)
3. Change Param Sfo file from 3.56 to 3.55
4. Load it up with a game disc in drive
5. Play the game

Having it as a req to load the game versus NEEDING it because the game requires some new functions of the FW are two different things. You can find ways around the former.
