WIP PS364 - N64 Emulator in Development by Team EmulateMii

The other day we reported on the first N64 emulator in development for the PS3 by a team of anonymous devs. Some of our readers had their doubts about the credibility of this project. Today, those skeptics will be pleased to find out that a new N64 emu project has been unveiled by the respected group, Team EmulateMii. The team is well known for their extensive work in the Wii scene. Their project, known as PS364, utilizes the legal open source PSL1GHT SDK and is a port of Wii64. The port is still a work in progress, but the team promises more info soon.

We’ve been playing with PSL1GHT, the legal, open SDK for PS3, over the past couple days, and we have a basic port of Wii64 to PS3 already. Expect more to come…

PS. There is some recent news about a team claiming to be working on an N64 emulator for PS3. Just so you know, that story is not about us or about PS364.

This is awesome news, I hope they release the HD mod too!

The only missing emulators are Dreamcast and Sega CD emulator and a decent PS1.

Is there a PCEngine emu?

Well we already have a couple other nintendo systems supported in emulators for the PS3.
but yes this will mean Mario in 3d polygons on the ps3.

I'm not sure what the status of it is, but I remember reading about it a couple weeks ago.

I got mine from here and it works on 3.55

And as happy as I am to see this come together, I am a bit curious as to how this will work with the controls and all, and didn't I see something about a possible Wii emulator a few months back? How is that going?

The subject of turkish is not the subject in this thread, please stay on topic. Unless he breaks forum rules directly AND ignores a warning, he will not be banned. His comments are opinions, and nothing he has wrote in the last week has been against our forum rules. We are not going to get in the habit of saying who has the right to free speech and freedom of expression because their opinions differ from our own. I've left forums like that in the past; it's not a fun place to be when every word you type you know will be scrutinized and judged. As long as comments are not abusive or bad advice given on purpose, they are not against our forum rules.

Now, back on topic... Two teams on the N64 emulator?!?!?! AWESOME!!! I've been waiting on this one, and that other team had me thinking fake right away. With asbestos having rsx access, I thought we'd have to wait on a driver and then a port before we'd get a n64 emulator. Happy to see people aren't giving up on homebrew now that linux is back. I have my roms, now I'm just waiting for a release...

Wow... look who talks. I agree with you btw...

And Mednafen emulates PCEngine with no problems (the audio issue was fixed) but those games are expensive to import, and you'd have to use a CFW made by hackers. Unless... of course... you were to download them

how about if someone wants to post that they are first....let them, then you can be the adult in the situation and ignore it and get on with your day.

Back onto the thread, this is great news, didn't believe the last post on the n64 emu but this is great.

Although i still dont get why i care, as i have an n64 right next to my ps3, but i still want the EMU!!!!!

Probably because your N64 looks quite crappy on a HDTV as it doesn't even have true RGB output... on PS3 with a good emu, you would have your games in 1080P Progressive screen though HDMI... pretty sure the graphics would be alot better than on your standard N64...

(At least that's why I want a N64 emu badly... )
