  • multiMAN v1.15.05 - New Display Feat w/Multiple Backgrounds & Bug Fix

multiMAN v1.15.05 has been served to us, alongside our breakfast this morning. The new version features a really cool new display mode, which can be seen in the pic below. It feature 4 changeable background images (unconfirmed: you may be able to FTP in more images after install) A minor bug fix was also included to fix the [select]+[x] combo with long paths.

Yesterday, Dean updated the his most popular multiMAN application to version 1.15.04. With general performance improvements and code optimization, this will be the best fast and stable multiMAN yet. In addition to the overall optimization of the application,, Dean has added FTP server controls in control console, fixed "expand_avchd" option, and you will see a great benefit to any of you who thinks it takes to long to transfer things via FTB/USB internally to the PS3 Hdd because there is a definite speed gain with this release. If you've never tried multiMAN, you will not be disappointed and if you have used it before, then you already know that Dean never disappoints, so its time to update!

    * It is required that you have a Blu-ray Disk in the drive at all times if you can, and "Non-Modified" game files. Disk-less compatibility can vary! Make sure you restart your system anytime an Lv2 application has been used (GAIA/Lv2 V6) before starting multiMAN v1.14.0+

    * multiMAN v1.15.04 is a stand-alone installation, no prior installs required. If you have never installed multiMAN, use the v1.15.04 Mega Pack to get all the extra's (covers & themes) installed and then install v1.15.05 over that. Otherwise, use the v1.15.05 base package or v1.15.05 Full Pack (973 covers)

    * multiMAN v1.14.0+ should not require you to run Lv2 v/any! Do not run before multiman! You should only need Lv2 for Fix Permissions. I would restart the system after running Lv2 then run multiMAN.

    * Delete prior versions before installing v1.14.0+.
    -----------------------------------------------------
After educating myself, I believe this is my last thread about BM's at this time. After doing some research of the US DMCA Legalities, I don't believe it is smart of me to be toying with this any-longer. Since the end-users/coders wanted Lv2 integrated into their program, they have in reality added a DRM circumvention into their program. This is not good for them or anyone else covering these types of applications. This is why Lv2 was a standalone feature (let the end-user decide to pirate or not).
    Thanks dLcrook.

Connecting to PSN on CFW 3.55 Kmeaw *Updated*

Personally I haven’t tried this yet, but it seems promising… This comes from an anonymous fellow who is reporting success on connecting to PSN using PS3 Custom Firmware 3.55 by Kmeaw. So install that first and then follow these steps.

The following assumes you’re technically inclined and/or very resourceful, i.e. you know how to use Google. You’ll likely need to reference Google when it comes to generating/signing a certificate and creating a CA (certification authority). That said lets get started; here we’re using a combination of two tactics:

      1. DNS server trick: Set Primary DNS to 67.202.81.137 under Network Settings
      2. Simple SSL proxy that basically modifies the headers for outgoing packets to auth.np.ac.playstation.net’s to change “PS3 03.55″ to “PS3 03.56″ — this makes PSN believe the PS3 is using the proper firmware version

Got it? Now here is how we accomplish tactic #2:

      1. Replacing a SSL cert in the CFW (in /dev_flash/data/cert) with your own CA SSL certificate
      2. Creating an SSL certificate for “auth.np.ac.playstation.net” signed with your CA certificate
      3. Run a DNS server on your machine that resolves auth.np.ac.playstation.net to your PC’s internal IP
      4. Create a Java SSL proxy (basically PS3 <-> PC <-> PSN). The PC claims (to the PS3) that it is “auth.np.ac.playstation.net” and is successfully accepted because a CA signed the SSL certificate
      5. Replace the headers sent PS3 -> PSN to specify “PS3 03.56″

Any possiblity you or any one can write a simple tut on it. People have confirmed it to work, and on the psx scene as well as ps3-hacks. I just don't have the know how to mess with CL's and java.

You can get your own wallpapers in 4x2, obviously.

      /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR

There are 4 JPG files there. AUR0, AUR1, AUR2, AUR3. The manager rotates this 4 images. All you have to do is replace them all with 4 different images and put the same name.

If you want the background to be static in one image, just copy the same image 4 times and name it AUR0, AUR1, AUR2 and AUR3 .

I cover alot of the multiman/gaia updates here & on some other sites. Psgroove & Dean are seperate from this statement. I personally cannot cover this anymore. It was cool, but the program has evolved into a very touchy & possible illegal one for me to be deling with via my countries laws. If there ever comes a time when circumvention teqniques are removed from these programs, then I will continue to cover the updates and help those who are new & vet's alike.

I don't know if someone else will still keep covering updates for multiMAN. But anyway, you can still get updates directly via the official source for multiMAN. Its in french but who cares... You still can have the lastest version at least.

That's what I use Google Chrome for.
It auto translates pages for me. It does leave a few things out, but you can go to the original at the click of a button and see what is missing (changelog does not show properly in either Chrome or google translate).

Google translate is just about as easy but it does things I don't care for.

So is this the reason MM v1.16 is not here?

I thought that he pulled the ability to run backups from it?
Fairly easy to put back in with a easy to find package file.........but still.........

Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like the ability to run backups is not included (I haven't installed it yet, so I'm not sure about that statement).

Hope I'm not giving misinformation, so correct me if I'm wrong.

I will read further into his original thread this evening to see if that is the case.

In multiMAN 1.16 Deanrr has removed the BDEMU.BIN file. So its not circumventing anymore. Now you can either download the BDEMU.pkg to install it to have it autoload for those that prefers it auto or you just run LV2 patcher manually each time.

      01.16.00 -

      01.16.00 -

READ CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU PROCEED WITH UPDATE (FW 3.55)!
      - No payload of any kind included in the distribution
      - Support for "Black screen games" using external USB HDD

      * BDEMU.BIN or external payload required to enable following functionality:
      - Support for AVCHD/BDMV structures saved on internal HDD (AVCHD HDD)
      - Path redirections for /dev_bdvd and /app_home
      - BDEMU.BIN is not distributed with install packages
Oh and I found the english version of that official source page here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f187/mul...hd-bdmv-72826/

PS: The BDEMU.pkg is on the last page (or around the last pages) of the thread on the forum. Or you can have it here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f187/bdemu-bin-80484/ (BDEMU.BIN)
