Sony Blocks DNS Trick - Hackers Access to PSN Revoked
In a crushing blow to hackers, Sony patched a well known trick, which hackers had been recently using on their modified consoles. The trick, which enabled online access for the hackers, involved changing your console's primary and secondary DNS servers to custom ones. Until now, this effectively blocked notifications received from Sony, ordering users to update their consoles. In addition, it restored PSN access to modified consoles and consoles which were on lower firmwares. Hackers are scrambling for a new work around, which they may or may not end up finding. In this latest move by Sony, hackers could see this as the end of PSN for good or at least the foreseeable future.
