Raw Games Installer Released - PS3 Game Backup To PKG Application

An app that aids in patching and building PS3 backup packages, was released today, by a dev who calls himself dobosz. The author does not take credit for the methods or keys used inside the app, which he calls Raw Games Installer. It is based on the work of GeoHot, fail0verflow, and DeLiGhT.

To Do List:

- Limit the logs
- Improved external HDD support (FAT32 only). Tested on InFamous.
- FTP Client

Description:

Raw Games Installer is a simple application which was made to help you with patching and building PS3 backup packages.
I don’t claim metods or keys usesed in this application.
This is a simple wrapper between you and hackers software.
Application use code developed by GeoHot, Team Fail0verFlow, and DeLiGhT.
Orginal programs can be found in “dependence” folder.

Change Log:

1.1.0.0:
- added delete temp_dir folder
- minor bug fixed
- added dev_usb patch. Some games won't work with it. Still need improvment, if path reference conteins NULL it wont work. Tested on Infamous.

1.0.1.2:
- GUI improved.
- Some error handeling.

just a quick HOW TO here... just started playing TRINE, but it says there's an update of 1.01... so I installed it and of course it messed the game up... then before I could play it says I had to agree to NEW PSN TERMS or something like that... any clue how to download the 1.01 and slipstream or whatever it into the already existing pkg???

I've tried NFS HP many times and i can't get it to work. I managed to build the pkg manually wit Cygwin and with this tool, which works great on win7 btw and at the end it tells me to put USRDIR to PS3_0949 cause my game ID is BLES00949, but the game is just stuck after skipping update screen. When i build the pkg my self and copy the USRDIR same thing. I'm pretty shure now that the only reasonable thing is to put the dir in /dev_hdd0/game/BLES0094 no matter what it says in pkg. I'll try it again using this app and put everything in that folder and report back.

I'm on 3.41 with JB dongle.

I would try to update the game, and copy new EBOOT.BIN via FTP on PC and then patch it again.

Ok backed up Madden 11 onto USB using GeoHot 3.55 JB and multiman loaded BLUS30546 into RGI and GOT EVERYTHING IS OK went to install .pkg to ps3 and got THERE IS A LATER VERSION OF THIS INSTALLED NO NEED TO INSTALL.

Any help ? Where am I goin wrong ? Im new to this ps3 stuff Im more knowledgable in the Android OS ....worlds apart.

Ho can someone create a post for compatible and incompatible games I've only tried 2 games so far prototype doesn't seem to work but burnout paradise does.

How did you get that working? I ran it through the Raw Game Installer, got he .pkg and installed it fine. Ran it and got a black screen? Did I miss something?

Raw Games Installer does not work. Have tested today .. It makes PKG file, one install which also on PS3 can, one Game icon also is reported but the game does not start.
Without a corresponding BM no B.G. will run ..

Lego Star Wars - The Complete Saga

Works if you put THE FOLDER 'USRDIR' (Not it's contents) in folder /dev_hdd0/PS3_0079, but, when tried to update to version 2.0 (from PSN) it stopped to work and doesn't show in game list...

Some tip?

I think it's just about the path the game uses no matter what it says in the pkg you make. I have some guests over i will try later and see if NFS works if i can make it work

UPDATE: deleted saved game data and installed pkg file .......
installed successful
run unsuccessful
Madden 11 -BLACK SCREEN

Any suggestions ?
