  • Successful 3.55 to 3.41 Downgrade Method Released

We can confirm, that a successful 3.55 downgrade method has now been released. We previously reported on KaKaRoTo's attempt to provide a 3.55 downgrade method. However, the inability to reproduce his results, ended up roadblocking his work. This time around, solidpsycho, of PSX-Scene is claiming to be successful. He released a modified 3.41 PUP which we have personally tested, and can confirm its legitimacey.

    NOW ONTO THE BAD NEWS

There are reports of this bricking Slim consoles, do not attempt to downgrade a Slim console with this method. Older Fat PS3's are reporting no issues. Also, after downgrading to 3.41 with this method, your PS3 will think its a 3.56 console. Once on 3.41 it is recommended that you then downgrade the traditional way to 3.15 firmware, and then upgrade the traditional way to 3.41 official firmware.

Update: Unconfirmed - slims with firmware version 3.41 or below from factory will downgrade fine.

Will this delete all data on my ps3 as reported with the other downgrades? and if it does erase all data on the ps3, does the backup manager that Sony puts into the ps3 (System > Backup And/Or Restore) i think also back up the playstation network accounts and the passwords for those accounts? And how would i use this with kakaroto's downgrade method for the iPod Touch first gen

It says there is a posibility that it could brick your slim. i would wait for them to either fix the problem or make an all new CFW downgrade PUP for slim models unless your ps3 slim is on Fimware 3.41

Ok, so, i formatted a USB drive to FAT32, then i put the ps3 update file and the Lv2diag.self from File1 folder also into the root. Then i start my Ps3 and nothing happens. I followed the guide in http://psgroove.com/showthread.php?7...41-and-Earlier but nothing. I also saw the video and it looks nothing like the guide.

you have the yellow light of death. your ps3 may be bricked my bes guess is that you didnt read the tutorial on how to install this thus bricking you ps3. the only way to fix it is to bring to Gamestop or some other ps3 retail store and have them fix it

you dont need to post that twice. So. you have lv2diag.self in the root of your usb as well as PS3UPDAT.PUP, keep it like that. make a folder on your usb named PS3 and open it then make another folder named UPDATE. if you are on windows the file path should look like (x://PS3/UPDATE/) Copy not cut the PS3UPDAT.PUP to /PS3/UPDATE/ and try the process again. if it does not work keep trying over and over again
