    The latest DEX firmware has been made available on the PS3DevWiki from an anonymous source. What that means for the members that have converted their CEX consoles to DEX consoles can play even the latest games from original disc like Darksiders II that requires 4.21

    File changes compared to 4.20

      since this is released i wonder if 4.21 games can be decrypted?

      OKay upon reading this I want to update but I have a couple of questions I want to ask before I do.

      1. If I do upgrade to DEX, will I be able to downgrade back to 3.55 CFW?
      2. Does DEX let you play games from a external HD with Multiman, like 3.55 cfw does?

      1. Yes you can > read here: 4.21 dex leaked
      2. No you can't, as mM won't allow you to do so due to the official firmware's limitations.

      Will i be able to play my 3.55 cfw backups + ps2/psp games with dex 4.21? I know dex plays retail discs but wanted to know before i upgrade and install mm (dex version)

      i dont understand this thread .... if i just download this file and update it from recovery mode .. my console will become dex??

      No, You must first covert your console to DEX first then you will be able to install debug firmware like this one.

      I have two questions. Its possible convert a console with ofw 3.60 + to dex? Is much better stay on 3.55 kmeaw or go to 4.21 dex?

      Hey I wanna ask you something. Although my ps2 cannot be modded it scph-90001 date code 1D. Um I wanted to ask you do you know how to get codebreaker to work on my ps2 and can you tell me what i need. I have lots of memorex dvd+r cds so i wanna burn the code breakerv10 to it please help me !

      Hey guys,
      i have a big question [a noob one to be honest]...
      I have a PS3 with OFW 4.21 installed, can i install 4.21DEX and then downgrade to 3.55 OFW?! After that can i install CFW 3.55 ?! I saw with DEX you can downgrade but i didnt understand how far you can downgrade, or if it only lets you downgrade to DEX FW's... Thanks!

      Just wondering whats going to come out of this. With all the fixed games out now and everyone is raging how great it is!!! (ME To!!!) Will anyone try to make a CFW out of this if possible. Hummmmm... I wonder.... Would it be even worth it????

      First you would have to downgrade to 3.55 with a hardware flasher, then do the conversion to DEX. After you convert you can install the 4.21 DEX firmware. Only after you've done that can you downgrade at will and convert back and forth from CEX to DEX and back again

      Hello all
      Just finished converting cex to dex. Using 4.21fw. Now I'm playing an original game, and it askes to download the update..I do and I get an error. I can play the game without the update. Do I have to convert the updates for dex?

      DEX consoles don't necessarily need to play CEX disks. So instead of removing the downgrade capability, they can instead remove CEX public keys (keys needed to read and process eboots for booting contents) from the firmware, effectively killing any interest pirates might have in DEX consoles.

      ->Enable core-dump
      ->Start Game via Target Manager or USB-BD-EMU
      ->Create an intentional Crash
      ->Grab decrypted EBOOT from dump
      ->Encrypt, sign & package for 3.55
      ->profit?
