  • Deank Releases multiMAN v04.18.03

Deank has provided a small update for multiMAN today: changed the method for scanning of control-info for eboot.bin/self/sprx files. Also, the [* Install Package Function] will not allow for adding the same PKG multiple times and also allows for "deselecting" when the "standard" method is used. Also there was various other changes/improvements not listed as well. For those wondering what happen to v04.18.02 it was quickly pulled and replaced with this current version.

p.s. Have in mind that the change/fix for checking if games require higher firmware will make mM scan ("Verifying data...") your games at least once.

Is it safe to go online while running multiMan? To perform updates for example?

@deank, when I loaded multiMAN so I can run the update, I got the black screen again. So I took the advantage of trying out your steps that you suggested before--so it can help me troubleshoot my issue.

Please keep in mind that my theme is Simple is Beautiful v4 and that has a black background--so that explains the black screen. Plus my locked display is 4x2--that might explain why I can't switch displays and etc. Could the problem exist only in the 4x2 display? Perhaps this is why others haven't discovered this issue?

I disconnected all USB devices. Turned on multIMAN and still black screen with HDD info at the bottom of the screen.

I then started to delete each XMBS file and turning on/off multiMAN but none seemed to work. At one point I deleted all the XMBS files and still no go. Still black screen.

The only thing that did work was the L2+R2+L3+R3 command to reset all my options to default.

I wonder why this happens? Can it be an internal HDD issue? I wonder? That's the only device left.

      Thanks, deank.

The IPF within MM is great, I love the bubble install method as it removes packages one by one as these are installed, so when having to install multiple packages in certain order, I use this and not have to remember which I already installed and pick next that i din't install.

Regarding, the standard method, I usually install pkg files from usb root, so these are available both in IPF inside MM and on IPF in the Game menu. I usually go to IPF inside MM to use the bubble method, because in this case, when using standard, it will mount them in IPF in game menu, but these are already there, what would happen, will these appear twice in there?

Also, the first time these didn't appear as bubbles I was scared as the disk space decreased and couldn't find them anywhere, but fortunately when entering and exiting MM again, the space came back.

This is why I suggested to set the default install method to bubbles.
