Rogero a PlayStation 3 Custom Firmware Developers has released V2 of his 4.30 CFW along with a 4.21 CFW version. The 4.30 CFW has been built from scratch using official 4.30 firmware files (CEX files). All the issues like XMB icon sorting and Demo Mode from v1.04 are now all in the past with v2.00. LV1/LV2 patches were added for many additional features such as Direct Disc Access you can view all additional features below in the changelog. For additional information please checkout the Official Rogero CFW V2 thread @ tortuga-cove. NOTE: You must have multiMAN v04.12.00 Prior to installing this CFW.-- LINK

You must have multiMAN version 04.12.00 installed on the PS3 before updating to CFW4.30 v2.00 or you won't be able to install Package files until you downgrade again to version 3.55 and Install multiMAN 04.12.00

4.30 v2.00

Rebuilt from scratch using OFW4.30 files only (no DEX/SEX files) with official XMB and full features working as in OFW4.30
All known problems like XMB icons sorting and Demo Mode issues from v 1.04 are now all gone with the use of the official XMB.
Removed the classical "Install Package Files" Icon from XMB to have a 100% original XMB (no DEX/SEX files used).
Installing Package Files can be done from multiMAN 04.12.00 (XMMB Home column or MMOS File Manager).
Patched LV1 to disable LV2 Protection.
Patched LV1 to add peek/poke support to replace hvc 182/183 (multiMAN Direct Disc Access is now working fine with CFW4.21/4.30 v2.00)
Patched LV1 to disable SYSTEM MANAGER INTEGRITY CHECK (to prevent Bricking on non-dehashed downgraded consoles)
Patched LV1 Core OS Hash Check (to prevent Bricking on non-dehashed downgraded consoles)
Patched LV2 to add peek/poke support. (for both LV1 and LV2)
Patched VSH to enable ReActPSN compatibility (Allow Unsigned act.dat and *.rif files, Disable Unlinking/Deleting of act.dat)
Spoofed the system version to latest OFW version 4.31.
PSN/SEN access is available as long as the current "passphrase" still the same.
Loading games from App_home Icon is now fixed.
It can run games signed with Keys up to version 4.30 without any Eboot/Sprx patching needed
Games can be loaded from Disc Icon (with Original game in BD) and from app_home (Disc-less, but not all games).
Current 3.55 homebrew applications can't be loaded on this CFW, applications must be re-signed properly for FW4.21/4.30

4.21 v2.00

Same Features as CEX_4.30 v2.00 plus the following add-ons:
1.) It does have the default "Install Package Files" node on XMB. (no need to have multiMAN installed before using it)
2.) It does have LV1 Checks Disabled and can be used directly instead of Rogero3.55 v3.7 while downgrading with Hardware Flashers.
3.) It does have the Proper Cinavia Disabled Files for the users who needs it.

im on rogero 4.30 v1.4....do i need to downgrade to install v2 ??

- While on CFW, go to System Update from XMB and install the Downgrader PUP.
- After the Downgrader PUP installs you'll be on a hybrid CFW3.55 that will still shows ver4.21/4.30 from system settings.
- Enable QA flag by following these steps:

1- Download the Rebug QA_Toggle package from here ---> toggle_qa.pkg
2- Put the "toggle_qa.pkg" on USB and Install it on the PS3.
3- Run the "Rebug Toggle QA" from XMB, the screen will go Black and you will see HDD Led activity then if all went fine you will hear 2 or 3 Beeps and the PS3 will Restart back to XMB.
4- If you want to make sure QA flag was set, go to "Network Settings" then apply the following key combo (all at the same time):

L1 + L2 + L3 (press left stick) + R1 + R2 + dpad_down

You should see Edy Viewer, Debug Settings, and Install Package Files if done correctly.

- Now put "Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7" on your USB in: "USB\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP" ---> Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7.PUP
- Start the PS3 into Recovery Menu and install "Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7" (from Recovery Menu, this is important)
- Once you're back on Rogero CFW3.55 v3.7 Start the PS3 into Recovery Menu and install any CFW 3.55/4.21/4.30.

Useful Hint ( for Slims / FATs with NOR Flash only ):
you can simply use CondorStrike's Updater package from XMB to enter Recovery Menu directly from XMB without going through several restart/shutdown sequences. --> Condor Updater v2.0

I tried to install the new CFW in recovery menu. The ps shows me an error data corrupted. Now the system doesnt start, because of an error. It wants to format (((((

In recovery menu system update will freeze the ps3. What can i do?

Question, Does Rogero CFW have issues loading games from ext USB if more than one ext USB drive are plugged in?
I'm currently on Rebug 4.21.3 REX and that is the only issue i've had with it so far.
Burnout Paradise & COD Black Ops 2
both fail to load external with more than 1 HDD plugged in.
Can anyone test these games and verify?

P.S. I like that they've added reActPSN support brilliant, now if the reAct developer could update the app to work above 3.55 would be great!!

After every reboot it says there is an error the hdd must format. I dont want to lost all my savegames and other stuff from my hdd.

Please people DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE LINK PROVIDED BY SENDSPACE. The update file is not even half of real size! Download it from here please it MUST HAVE 192MB

You will loose all of your data if you try to update using and incomplete PUP file.

8002f2b5 < This errors occurs even in OFW it means you are stuck in a update loop. It was caused by the corrupted file size from the sendspace link I already asked the link to be removed.

Try this 3.56 Hard Drive Upgrade Problem Fixed * - PlayStation Forum Why dont you try using your 4.21 CFW from rogero? Please do not use any OFW 3.56 above do do this!!!!

Removed your DL link. They do not meet the official PUP size either. As one of our links on the mainpage did not (all links are from Rogero Official Page). I removed the 36MB link.

THAT IS WHY A PUP SIZE AND MD5 are provided. I advise everyone to verify any PUP before installation.

I too have encountered the same error recently. Not sure about the error code but mine came after attempting to go from 4.30 rogero v1.3 to 3.55 via the 999 downgrader. Mine got stuck on the install forever and would not finish so i ended up turning it off and i kept getting the corrupt data/need to format message. All I can say is I hope you FTP'd your saves and have all your backups backed up. I had to format it. Formatted mine on a pc first just to be sure. Took me about a week to fix everything back to the way it was but its good now. Im on Rebug 4.21 now. I dont know if it has something to do with downgrading with a large hard drive maybe? Just a theory. Best of luck to ya. Let me know if you find out something I couldn't

Thanks to Rogero again. I just upgraded to CFW 4.30 v2.00 and it is working like a charm.

Only the bad thing is dat you have to downgrade to CFW 3.55 to upgrade again to CFW 4.30 v2.0 or else you will get DATA CORRUPTED message if you try to install update from CFW 4.30 v1.04

Also you can use Rebug 999 to downgrade back to 3.55. then install 3.55.3 rex then install CFW 3.55.2 rebug and then install CFW 4.30 v2.00 ALSO INSTALL THIS ALL FROM RECOVERY MODE.

I can`t update or downgrade keep getting the message in recovery mode NO APPLICABLE UPDATE DATA WAS FOUND also when I`m not in recovery mode when trying to downgrade..I am on Rogero 4.30v1.04
