Well for the older members of Psx-Scene I am highly dissapointed in you guys for getting bricks on your ps3. You knew the risks from the wanky 3.50 brick from almost 2 years ago... From that experience alone it should of raised your awareness on things for a noob bricking their ps3 it's rather cute and understandable. But for a senior member of the scene I mean really? What happened to waiting to see the results of the many users updating firmware.

This is why we need something like 3K3Y around pretty good chance they will test the hell out of their product before a release... if free means getting massive bricks like Wanky in 2010? Count me out...

3k3y being released by Sonxy, lol, we still need homebrew, 3k3y is useless just like the Wode there is a software alternative Nor need for hardware

Well idk about that. All I know that this cfw was a major flop imo the "good games" didn't even come out yet I am 100% sure that AC3 will have 4.30+ update now

These things need serious beta testing so it was a failure on both ends Blue Disk and Rogero it was a rush rush "how fast can I crack this" operation which leaded to disaster... and the many users just jumping the gun without realizing what happened 2 years ago. Sure the fix is a hardware fix but how many people will actually do it? Especially if they bricked easy from this... All I am saying I would rather pay my money to a group of devs who beta tested their product and I use it one time and I am finished with it rather than use a random CFW that I gotta wait on other users to use first.

Also I disagree with you 3K3Y is a one time use "I think" and you are finsihed I mean sure you lose home-brew but the most important part is playing games and having the latest updates and firmware instead of a cat and mouse game. I would "Personally" Downgrade my PS3 just to get this once it comes out.

hey bitsbubba, Rogero 4.21cfw installed fine on my CHECHA01. It had kmewa 3.55 cfw and i disabled SEN and shutdown ps3 and went into restore 3.55ofw and then rogero 4.21cfw. There are some noticeable bugs but nothing major. Everything works perfect. Playing madden right now and tomorrow is Medal of honor warfighter.

Granted a lot of people jumped at that, as did I on Waninkoko v1, from that I learned to do my homework as to why I think a lot of these bricks could have possibly been prevented but unlike 2 years ago we have the knowlege to fix them check the past for modding first hardware then software we're at sotware Nor need to go backwards I successful installed this FW so it can't be all bad

Ok, it didn't last long ...

First issue encountered.
My PS3 refuses to install package files, it simply uses the excuse that there is no more space on my internal HD.

Which is false ... I just deleted +2Gb of data to be sure I didn't use all the space.
I can't even install Multiman.

DO NOT USE THIS, THERE ARE SERIOUS FLAWS THAT NEED TO BE FIXED.

I see what you are saying but that firmware will obviously have limited support. Since most games I am pretty sure would require 4.25+ like AC3 would provide... but my logic is I would rather have something that you use one time and be done with it. Unless Sony actually steps in and block it. Or I would rather have Sony just ban PSN accounts if they detect a pirated game on PSN. 3K3Y seems really promising I don't really care too much about homebrew and I bet alot of users can relate aslong the game works then that would be fine. When I used to have CFW I only used OpenManager and all my games worked fine TB patches and all.

But here is my final logic. Ps3 doesn't cost much but you still pay a good amount of money for a game system. Brick or no brick you do some kind of damage to your console so I would be wise about updating any foreign firmware that I have no knowledge about. At least when a dev sell you a piece of hardware it's bound to work for the ammount of testing they do to it before it hit the market besides a dev just releasing something. People got way to comforatable with the psp scene and how well it did but how poor it killed the console as a whole So they expect everything to be software solution when memory served correctly at a time you needed a Pandora battery to make it run.

I just rather pay for a device that would 100% work than go through a headache we never gave BlueDisk a chance to see what they would do. But yet these are the same people that caused a major brick effect.

A simple format has resolved the issue (I lost all my data and my backups stored internally, GRRRRRR). I'll keep you guys updated if anything arise.
