  • PUAD GUI v1.2 - PUP Unpacker, Repacker, and Decrypter for Windows

    Developer Nathan_r32_69 has an update to his PC application PAUD GUI. Version 1.3 brings added support for ps3swu2.self that are available in 3.56+ PUPs, new background music, all keys at the moment and some minor improvements. More from the developer below.


    After some weeks of hard work i finally finished the new PUAD GUI, aka PUP Unpacker and Decrypter. Works without Cygwin, directly from Windows, if anyone see any issue please tell me

    • check - Enables/Disables the initial check of executable files/keys
    • warning_popup - Enables/Disables warnings popups
    • suffix - Enables/Disables PUAD GUI watermark while creating new PUP

    Here is the format and composition of keys. MUST BE inside bin\ps3keys, and named as type + data + fw version, for example for 3.55 app would be app-data-355:

    PRIV 0x90 - 0xA4

    Instructions

    Unpacker Option

    • Choose a PUP file
    • Select destination folder *
    • Choose from the options available
    • Click on Start/Iniciar


    Repacker Option **

    • Choose a PUP file
    • Select destination folder *
    • Choose from the options available
    • Program will stop when finish, and now you can modify as you wish but DON'T RENAME ANY FILE
    • Click on Repack/Reempaquetar for create new PUP


    * - Make sure the folder is empty to avoid errors
    ** - Don't rename any file/folder, must have original name and extension given by PUAD GUI



    Troubleshooting

    Q: Can re-pack PUP file?
    A: Yes, for dev_flash and Core_OS, repacker option is available from version 1.1

    Q: Can i rename files created by Repacker option?
    A: NO, NO and NO!! You can modify files but NEVER rename it

    Q: The program is going slow or crashes
    A: The program uses many resources, even if it looks locked is still working

    Q: Background music is heard slow
    A: Disable it in menu or in the boot.ini file

    Q: How can i change the background music?
    A: Replaces SOUND.BIN file in bin folder with another in MP3 format

    Q: Always fails while unpacks PKG
    A: Make sure PKG key is in the orrect place and the output folder there is no file

    Q: Works with regular ps3tools files and keys?
    A: No, only works with embedded files and keys, are modified for PUAD only

    Q: If i change something in Core_OS and i'm doing something wrong, can brick my PS3?
    A: Yes, your PS3 wil be bricked and only can be saved with a flasher, this option is only for developers or people with knowledge about it
    A: I REPEAT, THIS OPTION IS ONLY FOR DEVELOPERS OR PEOPLE WITH FLASHER

    Q: I get an error at startup
    A: Make sure you have all the necessary files and update your version of Windows


    Known bugs

    • Sometimes music stutters when you have a lot of activity (when more RAM, better)
    • Seems to hang but is working, donīt worry

      Tomorrow (or two more days) will be posted a new revision for repack PUP, it only will have enabled repacker of PUP only and dev_flash, with Core_OS need test before for avoid bricks, in a few days will have full support

      why in the hell would anybody still be running xp x64? its dead... xp is EOL in 6 months.... argh get a copy of 7x64 jeeze lol

      anyways not to rag on ya, im sure you have your reasons and its amazing you even have driver support.....

      Maybe I like a system that is not a resource hog and not much improvements except eye candy plus still works with most compilers without going crazy to find a way around a bad way to stop you plus on top of it had less problems with xp 64 then windows 7 better then vista but still
      and xp both are supported by ms until 2014 not 6 months
      Please at least if you are going to run me down use accurate facts

      If someone shows antivirus popup is a false positive, i've cracked a tool for embed files and shows me virus warning too, but is a false positive

      I find that your idea about the keys files is very clever... however it is not standard for future keys.

      If you don't like hundreds of files, you could consider the scetool's Keys format (plain text)

      BTW it's a great tool (as everything you release). I love your GUI! - except the BG music

      Yes, i think that too about keys and iīm doing a "prototype" for put all keys in a plain text file

      And the BG music was for testing and finally added it, i will change that BG music in next update (very close)
