I have been toying with the idea of front paging this for a day of two. Ever since I thought I should get a little more active on Twitter. While online I noticed a few Tweets by @dantezteam claiming access to PSN on pretty much any custom firmware. At first I was skeptical until I asked some MODS here to validate his claims and Shaitan pulled through. Well my skepticism was met with truth, PSN is back for custom firmware users!!

OpenPS3FTP can be found under Network column not Games - Note: first time I used this program. I wondered where the hell it was. LMFAO
OpenPS3FTP Username: root
OpenPS3FTP Password: anything - what ever you want

Make sure to backup your CERT27 and also to REBOOT the PS3 after install.

Confirmed WORKING!

IP address .... 192.168.1.*** - A IP NOT USED BY OTHER PC's and SUCH in your home/business
Subnet Mask ... 255.255.255.0
Default gateway... 192.168.1.1 - YOUR DEFAULT ROUTER IP
DNS Server1.... 192.168.1.*** - YOUR PC IP
DNS Server2.... 192.168.1.1 or 8.8.8.8

Thanks for your helpful posts so far CHOPPA, Im sorry to report im struggling with the numbers.

ipconfig /all gives me loads of numbers, but nothing like default router etc,

Which ones should I be looking for?

That error code is just telling you the Playstation network is down. You can even check it by doing an Internet connection on your PS3. If it fails on Playstation Network, this will confirm it.

i've done all the steps correctly and the internet works well but when I come to log in , it says "the connection to the server timed out"...I don't know how to fix this stubborn issue

Are you able to log into your PSN account on the PC

Did you reboot your PS3 after Network changes?

I also find running fckpsn is better from a C:\ Drive or other drive, than in My Documents. But that may not make a difference or not I don't know.

Don't forget to enable fckPSN on your firewall too.

windrider42s right all ways reboot your ps3 just turn firewall off hav fcpsn on desktop drive c and onely run fcpsn

yes I rebooted the ps3 and ran the fckpsn from desktop and c\ drive but nothing worked and could u tell me why I will need to log in from pc?

Just to make sure your account works is all.

What country you live in. Perhaps it actually is down where you are. As that is what the error code is.

it works well on pc and I live in Egypt and psn works with my friends here in Egypt

It depends on the firewall you are using.

1/ First make sure you replaced the 27.cert on your PS3. Won't work without doing that.

2/ Change the DNS settings on your PS3 when you setup the network. Both of those numbers can be the IP address of your computer. NOT your internet IP, but your computer's one on the network. It should begin with 192.

3/ Turn off your PS3, disable your firewall on your PC just to make sure it works and turn on your PS3 to see if it connects ok.

Start/Control Panel/Network and Internet/View network status and task/Change adapter settings/

2nd Way
Small Icons
Start/Control Panel/Network and Sharing Center/Change adapter settings/

3rd Way
Network icon on the Desktop
Right click Network Icon/Select Properties/Change adapter settings/

Finish with:
Right click the Wireless Network Connection and select Status.
Now click >>> DETAILS <<< button

This is where you can find your IP address

You might have to give admin rights to CMD maybe if it appears and then disappears right a way. Sounds more like virus/trojan/maleware problem though.

I found this as well for that error code

8071053D - Hard boot the PS3, turn off the PS3 to stand-by, flip off the back swtich and remove the power cord. Then shut off your modem/router, for about 5 mintues, then turn the modem back up first and let it sync, then turn the router back on(if using one) and let it sync. Reconnect your power cable and flip the back swtich up again. Then make a new network connnection.

Turn it off at the back, or unplug it.

Some have got it working using this guys app, as they had same error

For all the forks worrying about game updates to play online:
-Use the PARAMSFO Editor to edit the PARAM.SFO (in your GAMES Folder) and change the App version to 9.99. Quite a few games work that way. Use multiman [] to check the version.
-If it doesn't show 9.99 in multiman do the same with the PARAM.SFO in your \\hdd0\game folder. It will be fixed.
-For games that still don't work, get the Update and if it is a 3.6 use Aldo's klicense to decrypt the EBOOT.

Most games get fixed this way. I'm playing the following games now:
-NFS Hot Pursuit
-NFS The RUN
-GT5
-MW2
-Portal 2
