Wtf. I always just replace the files in the backup folder and it usually always work. But what you're saying is that I have to go download the game again, because I don't have the original EBOOT and SFO anymore. Then install the pkg. And this time replace the patch (EBOOT and SFO) with the files in the "game data" folder?

Why would you blindly overwrite your eboots and not back them up? Is it so hard to redump your games?

it seems like the same "issue" we had before with sfo not getting properly updated. if anything, i think it just might be easier to try *not* replacing the sfo now and just letting multiman do the updating cause that might be a lil easier than making a pkg or updating database.

and reddragon, where you been? when you get update patches, you have to replace the update folder's eboot

I am saying you need to learn to pay attention. When you see the files not inside a install pkg, you need to open the param.sfo with a reader and see what it says in there, before you go replacing files in the wrong places. Some are patches for the game backup (disc version). Some are patches for game data (update version). If you continue doing this without paying attention, then you are going to have these kinds of problems. I have said it a dozen times in this topic, PAY ATTENTION!!!

Now then about your files. Well, see if NODRM has a patch for just the game disc version. If so, then use those to replace the ones you mistakenly put in the game backup (disc version). If not, then google to see if you can find a site with original eboot files for PS3 games. I would link it, but I don't want to spoon feed you. I like to see you do things on your own.

P.S. I really dislike it how you say bluntly that you have to download the entire game again. All this time I thought you were ripping your own disc that you paid for. the actual fix for this problem is to go into Recovery and Restore Database by that you're forcing the PS3 to read the fixed PARAM that reads 3.40 FW

I too am having the "3.70 firmware required" error when I use the 1.06 update. I installed all the official patches, then overwrote the param.sfo and eboot.bin on /dev_hdd0/game/BCUS98106 The only thing I can think of is there are more files that need to be cracked from the other N0DRM cracks that I didn't install, or, the 1.06 crack is bad. One person in this thread claims you have to install 1.00, install, 1.01 + 1.01 crack / run, 1.02 update + 1.02 crack + run, 1.03... etc.etc.. maybe this will work? I haven't had the time to go through all that yet. BTW, the 1.00 crack DOES work, and it DOES FIX the sound bug that was in the Duplex 1.0 crack.

same problem here codone except i followed previous posted instructions to install each update and each patch but the 101 update after patch gives me the 3.70 msg and so do the rest does this require active spoof someone please enlighten

Wow I took a break from this site for almost 3 months and nothing has changed. Most people with CFW ps3's pirate video games (deal with it) also dont lie about a justification because you can buy (most) your ps3 games from Psn. (So you can stop with the disc-less excuse) No matter how many games you have on your HD that can not compare to an OFW ps3 (which is obviously better) I was always pretty open about my piracy but at the end of the day I stop 100% pirating all of my ps3 games and just went legit. Sure I pay alot of money for video games but atleast I play with them and enjoy multiplayer unlike the most of you who have 100's of games on your HD just skipping through games.

So I actually agree with dgraham83 unless you really do own 100% of your games then nobody have the right to criticize anyone. I think that NODRM is doing a very good job but at the end of the day you are still on dated firmware and if the rumors of (4.21CFW) is on the horizon (yes I still keep track of the scene AKA crunch) you still wont be able to go online. (So that defeats the whole purpose). I know that Psx-Scene have that "no piracy rule" and as long I have been gone I am still surprised when (you know what site) is running strong with piracy right in Sony's face. Hell atleast 90% of users on here pirate most of their ps3 material because that's all a CFW ps3 is good for is pirating video games. (Sorry but it's true) even that gets boring when you cant go on Psn and etc..etc.. Having a dualbooted ps3 for so long I saved my gamesaves on my PSN+ account and just sold the damn thing and got a newer ps3. And I never looked back at CFW (sure the free games are nice but no updates + online) it sucks. (Top it all off you STILL have to wait on people to give patches to you)

But if you wanna be cheap and just play campaign games all day with dated updates and old firmware then maybe (just maybe) a CFW ps3 is worth having.

ummm thats not true...you can go online with backups now ex: xlink kai and f*ck psn...im playing shangri la on black ops dude..fo free...have fun lining gamestops pockets if thats what floats your boat..doesn't float mine. i have an official fw ps3 as well and i have like 5 games for it and i DEF dont play it as much as my cfw slim w xcm moded case...just my opinion though just like you have one.

Well I actually like going to gamestop from time to time but that's not the point. xlink kai and etc..etc.. doesn't compare to psn because you cant play that many players on there. And it depends on the prefrence like you said many people rather play single player than multiplayer. But 75% of (normal gamers) prefer multiplayer which is why I made that statement. 9/10 times you beat a game you wont play it again. But you will if the multiplayer is good. I mean sure CFW is nice because you have all the games you want for free (once again) if you liked PSN more (like I did) then CFW would't satisfy you.

It depends on the preference but my main thing was the "anti piracy rule" I do not think I am better than anyone because I buy games etc..etc.. but what I don't like is for other users to make themselves think that they are "better" when they have a pirated game on thier HD (see my point?) I really hate a hypocrite pretty good chance all of you guys pirate video games I used to pirate too (another reason I stopped because damn game DL's were too damn big) but that's another story.

Once again I make that statement because on PSN you have the option of buying the game digital (for most new games) and many people tried to hide behind the discs. And why they have real games but back them up on a CFW ps3 but that sounds really weird when you can buy them off of PSN. Bad liars I say

You really need to drink some Kool-Aid and relax. My jest was a playful one, notice the smileys. P.S. Keep in mind guys that stating in any topic or reply here about downloading a pirate game has always been frowned upon. Both Admins and Moderators as well as senior members (that includes me) have always discouraged the practice. He's not a mod here but I am and I don't appreciate you talking to one of the devs like that. I personally don't care if you pirate or not but don't expect people to help you do it

At the same time, I can admit that perhaps the way I phrased my words earlier, may have come up a bit too strong--and I can see how some may think I was trying to attack certain people that do certain things. Please keep in mind that wasn't my intention, so my apologies. My true intent was to give the person (in an amusing way) a "heads up" that the "talk" about "downloading pirate" games is not welcomed in this site. I agree with what you are saying on people telling what site to go on to DL and etc..etc.. but at the same time you know and I know that it's a double edged sword really. Piracy is the main attraction and if people couldn't pirate on the ps3 then alot of people wouldn't even have a CFW ps3 or let alone be on this fourm site. Anyways I guess the better approach would of been to just said use google because of the rules or go on "you know what website" for all of the help you need.

I'm a little blunt first thing in the morning - I just woke up. We all know what goes on and I'm not judging one way or the other. There's an unspoken rule that we talk about backups and not d/l's. Where you get your backup is up to each person. It's just one of my pet peeves that people want to bootleg but don't want to learn how to do it and do it right to where they don't have to ask people to help them in illegal activities

Oka, finally I learned how to put the files for Dragons Dogma in the right place. Only problem now is this. I use CFW 3.55 but when I try to launch the game I get this message:
"System software on your system is version 3.70. To start you need to update to version 4.00 or higher. Do u wish to do this now?" I'm not paranoid about bricking ps3 and all that, but what should I do? is it safe?
