thank you very much for the quick response! you really are a pretty great moderator; i'm not trying to brown nose, i'm just pointing out that my last site i went to for ps3 news had a pretty bad mod, he was more like a dictator. i'm glad i'm back at this site

i shall bookmark and look more into it, especially if i need a newer game to play. i might play dragon warriors 7 since i've never played it and i know that is a hella long game (like, really, really long), but if i suck at it, then well, i'll probably want to play a newer game.

seems info is comming in nicely on this topic. So what do we do with true blue modified game backups? Do the true blue game backups go on a special formated hdd

You would need to either get the original unmodified files and run it from the PS3GEN formatted hard drive if it had an update, or you would need to reflash your CEX Flash dump. You can do it in a few seconds in multiMAN. After that, just reinstall your TB firmware and continue playing.

3. then i update to Dex 4.20

And can i play still my backup games from 3.55? and also play 4.10 oryginal games on blu-ray disc like "Dark Souls" without ofw update?

Is this like dual boot? If it is its awsome !

No kidding, i am having the same questions... I am also on KWEAW 3.55 with a old multiman... I always wanted to buy true blue, but did not do it yet! (silly, i find 60 dollars too much, but i buy many 360 games for the same price ) but now with this new DEX stuff, i am dazzled on what we can and can't... Do we wait for a new CFW, is this the new wait to do it? Damn, it sucks to be a noob at these times

You have to specify what you mean by "new cfw". This 3.55 DEX with peek/poke technically is a new cfw. If you mean a new firmware that can be applied to consoles with 4.20, then you may be waiting for a very long time.

I think he means CFW to play the newer games that are higher then 3.6, or can we now, with this new exploit?

If you own the retail disc you can play any one you want. Backups aren't 100% yet. Check this out for more info. It's a work in progress

thx bahumat. But one quick question. Do you have to format the HDD in four partitions and only one game per partition works? Correct? And can you still use all my old backups that worked in MM?

from what i understand, you can't go from a cex mfw to a dex mfw, you have to turn your console into a dex first.

i think you can just install any dex fw once you're on 3.55 dfw

@grifter - if you're on 3.55 DEX with peek and poke all your backups will play normally. You just go to 4.11 or 4.20 DEX when you want to play the games you couldn't before. You can switch back and forth pretty easy. And yes, you're right about the partitioning

@finlay - I'm thinking of just starting a DEX section in the forums. deank's guide and Shaitan's compatibility list are the first 2 that come to mind for stickied topics.

Once you do the conversion you can switch back and forth with multiMAN's flash option. After reflashing your original dump, just install 3.55 CFW. I went back to True Blue because I was in the middle of playing Mass Effect 3 when all this came out.

I got DEX 3.55 FW from Rogero now, but how can I go to DEX 4.20? Just install it over DEX 3.55?
