  • f***Psn v0.8 - Support for 3.41 and RubyDNS 0.4.0 Added

Last time we reported on f***Psn, it had been confirmed working with all the major 3.55 CFWs, including (but not limited to) Cobra, True Blue, and Rebug. Well, drizzt has released f***Psn v0.8, which now includes support for CFWs less than 3.55, meaning users still on 3.41 can now access PSN. This update also includes added support for RubyDNS 0.4.0, a DNS library put together by @oriontransfer.

    Taken From Twitter:
Updated ****Psn to support firmwares less than 3.55 and RubyDNS 0.4 (thanks @oriontransfer for that cool library)]
    About f***Psn v0.8:

    ****Psn 0.8 by drizzt@ibeglab.org

    Prerequisites

    • CA27.cer, dev_blind.pkg, ****Psn-v0.8.exe from here
    • OpenPS3FTP v1.3 or later, you can download 1.5 from here

    ChangeLog

v0.8: Re-add support for firmwares older than 3.55 v0.7: Add support for 4.11 spoofing
v0.6: Use an empty consoleid. Warning: be sure to get my 0.6 version
v0.5: Add support for firmwares older than 3.55
    v0.4: Don't use PS3DNS anymore

    Installation

    1. Install dev_blind.pkg and OpenPS3FTP on your PS3 (using FTP, external USB or what else)
    2. Launch dev_blind and make it mount the flash
    3. Open OpenPS3FTP
    4. Connect via FTP to PS3 (using username root and password openbox)
    5. Go to /dev_blind/data/cert
    6. Rename CA27.cer to CA27.cer.bak
    7. Put my CA27.cer as /dev_blind/data/cert/CA27.cer
    8. Set the PS3's PRIMARY and SECONDARY DNS server to your PC's IP address
    9. Reboot your PS3
    10. Start ****Psn-v0.7.exe
    11. Enjoy with PSN

    Warnings

If you have followed the OLD guide you need to rename the original CA27.cer to CA27.cer.bak and (my) CA24.cer to CA27.cerand you have to restore the old CA24.cer, by renaming CA24.cer.bak to CA24.cer
This is needed since some games use the original CA24.cer
If you lost original cert, you can take it here

    FAQs

Q: ****PSN does not start or prints "Address already in use" as error
A: Close anything that is using port 80 or 443, try also to close skype and to disable ICS if you are using it.

instead of trying to let people guess what your problem is, try posting your exact PS3 config and your exact PC config. Many people also had to go to Sony's site and change their email address/password for their PSN account

and as I said before nobody can help you if you don't tell us exactly how you've set it up and every piece of info that might help, like, I don't know, what version of Windows/MAC/Linux you are using. There are huge differences in the setups.

I really don't care to sit here and play guesswork through the many thousands of different possible combinations you have set up over there

Im running 32 bit vista. Allowed ruby and the f-psn to be unblocked In the advance windows firewall settings. I am running avast virus protection but there is no option for a firewall in it. Still the program crashes within seconds of initiating it.

do you have administrator privileges? Did you right click and hit "Run as administrator"

Edit: also try to temporarily disable windows firewall and run it again. Like I said Ruby DNS installs to a different location everytime and Windows Firewall doesn't handle exemptions for it very well

I did both of those well before even posting the problem. Still crashes.

internet connection sharing and network folder sharing will screw it up. Go into command prompt to where it's located and run ****Psn-v0.7b.exe. You'll be able to see why it's crashing

"Go into command prompt to where it's located and run ****Psn-v0.7b.exe. " Explain this a bit further please, actually how to do this, with the thought that I have never done it before please. And I have already disabled network sharing for the f-psn program.

@sakibusltan308 - works fine over wifi

@maruka - command prompt is your dos prompt. You should be able to find it in accessories in the start menu I believe. The icon should look like this c:\

Basic commands to navigate. These are commands to get to where mine is located. Replace them with whatever matches with your location:

c:\ (change drive letter. replace c with whatever drive it's located on)
cd\ (change to your root directory)
cd "\program files\****psn" (leave the quotes)
      ****psn-v0.7b.exe

If you do it like this instead of crashing and closing out, if it does crash the error message will still stay on screen so we can figure out what's going on with it

I'm seeing 2 different things related to that. Your anti-virus real time protection - try temporarily disabling it first, or you're running a 64-bit version of Windows. You'd have to install a virtual desktop version of Windows XP available through Microsoft

only other thing I can think of is your cert file wasn't replaced right on your PS3 in the flash or you've got a program open using port 80 or 443. Close down every internet based app and try again.

Also, double check you have full administrator privileges. Vista and 7 are funny about admin accounts. Also real shitty about User Account Control. You can find that in your control panel under user accounts
