E3 Team Announces New PS3 Jailbreak(s) + Two Dongle-Free Patches

So they just reinforced the fact that dongles are not needed at all to play these games, yet they're making their own anyway. lol

Basically, they are admitting that True Blue's patches do not require a dongle, but for other games the dongle (may or may not be) is required. It would be interesting to see this team blow TB out of the water by releasing ALL there patched games dongle-free, and then proceeding to give everyone the rest of the games. Only time will tell who does what.

Of course there will be a dongle along the same lines as TB, but they are saying more games the ability to patch your own eboots (debaitable as that would probable require the release of keys, which then we could re-sign said eboots to 3.55, leaving them without profit) and much more. Are they in it for the money?, again of course they are one of the original cloners of PSJailbreak (they also have the cheat & flasher clones) They seem to be a very talented group of developers that want to get paid for their work (you guys would like paid for what your skilled to do, right?)

I would love to see a patch for Resistance 3 as Team True Blue doesn't seem to be interested in making one.

Maybe this will allow us to be able to use the game updates that get released.

For example, Gran Turismo 5 has title update to improve the game and whatnot but the latest update requires the 3.60 keys.

I would say to them to NOT release the keys as this would piss off Sony. Releasing the keys is what got GeoHot in trouble with Sony.

I just hope that we don't get stuck with another useless CFW that only has one purpose like the True Blue CFW and Cobra CFW.

Also, I hope for a dongle free solution, not because I am cheap (I have bought several new games that can't be played on 3.55 without TB), but because most of us have PS3s that only have 2 USB ports since Sony is cheap.

I do hope that they release patches for ALL regions of games, not like TB that only releases ONE patch per game and they seem to release mostly EUR patches.

Only time will tell if they give us what we want.

To all anti-donglers and "greedy dev" haters: I don't really get you. No one's forcing you to buy any dongle. You could always play old games and homebrews with 3.55 cfw or upgrading to OFW to play new games.

Now with these.."greedy devs" coming up with more methods/solutions to our backup playing needs, the more possibility that a "idealistic dev" could reverse-engineer one of the methods they used instead of still be in the dark, and hopefully release a solution for free and/or without DRM. The way i see it, no harm done to the scene. I just hope that no one's trying to ruin anyone who's making progress (except sony, it's their job to ruin it lol).

Well I came to the JB game a little late so E3 was first dongle I purchased. I stayed on 3.41 until I purchased a TB so it was a good investment. I liked how even after it was irrelevant they released the goldfinger stuff so you could do some game modding/cheating with the device. All in all a well spent $25. I also purchased that stupid X3MAX which was a total scam. They were claiming 3.5+ JB which ofcourse never happened. It had shitty support and didn't even have pre-made payloads that were easy to find. It was close to $50 and was a scam.

I just dont' get the TB hate. Look their release schedule is not that bad. Everyone always bitches about this game or that not comging fast enough, but now they have over 125+ patches and almost everything major of interest is patched. I mean games like Max Payne and ME3 were out within a week or so of their release. This is not painfully slow like people act. Also I do think any dongle/patch provider like this has incentive to string us along a little with the releases to keep the product desirable (you know kind of how when a girl doesn't show it all you want her more type thinking).

So look if E3 puts something out then great for all those that hated TB, the price may be a few bucks cheaper and maybe (maybe) they will releases eboots instantly, but don't count on it. For us that adopted TB early, we have been playing many great games for almost a year now and the patches keep coming.

Variety and choice are great, so don't get me wrong, but for now TB is the best 3.6+ solution and I think the dongle/cfw/dfw/patches have all been pretty high quality given that this is a 'grey' market product.

Also most TB patches are not region specific. I have used patches on primarily USA disc releases without problem, but occasionally I will grab a EU ISO and also have no problems. In most cases the patches work fine on EU or USA games and the ones specifically for JAP titltes are obviously fine also.....get over it people and jump on TB or just keep waiting and hoping someone else can do it. This signals nothing but that someone else wants your money...don't expect a free solution until the PS4 comes out and the money to be made on PS3 has dried up!

Here is a hint. To make these games playable on your 3.41 machines, simply apply the patch, and then edit the PARAM.SFO to say 3.41 instead of 3.55(or whatever).

Not being able to use the different dongles on a single CFW is a real pain and very inconvenient.

Let's wait and see how often they are able to release game patches, as True Blue honestly takes a huge amount of time to patch games. If they really have the keys like they say, then they shouldn't have a problem with releasing patches at a much faster rate.

I don't usually post on forums often as I would rather read than post meaningless dribble.

I've been around the 'scenes' as they are now known for a long time, pre c64 tape drives the one thing everyone seems to forget when we talk about these dongles is they are a method of control, dont compare them to modchips as it is a different thing altogether as modchips gave you the ability to backup your own games, these dongles have eboot patches and 'scene' releases why buy when you have to download these eboot why not download the whole game instead and you have to hope the game you want to play is on their list.

Also when these guys get caught, give up doing eboots or decide the game you want to backup is not worth doing you are SOL.

The reason sony isn't going after these guys is because (at a guess) they wouldn't have sold 20,00 units, compared to the total sold units in homes that doesn't even rate.

It is a nice way to know that their piracy problem is contained to set market and wont spread wide.

The protection is to stop other pirates from stealing (HAHAHA) their work.

This just my opinion on this feel free to think I don't know jack or what ever floats your boat.

has no one hex edit the eboots to see what the diff
from STOCK , TB , E3 ?

a) STOCK is encrypted with 3.6 or newer keys, that's why it can't be decrypted and thus it's pointless to look at it with hex editor

b) TB is encrypted with 3.55 or older keys, it can be decrypted, but after it's stripped from Sony encryption what you look at, is binary encrypted with TB DRM encryption, which is still not reverse-engineered.

c) E3 seems to be encrypted with NPDRM algorithm, because i can't decrypt it with standard fail0verflow ps3tools and i need to use those tools patched with support for NPDRM in order to decrypt it, when decrypted it's obvious that is the real decrypted executable binary, because in hex editor it's visible that it contains in plain text paths to game resource files: for example "ryu_100pr", etc.

so, i guess using c) and the plain text in it and compare it with b) plus decrypted TB payload could actually help TB DRM to be figured out and all TB Eboots to be converted to really decrypted Eboots usable in 3.55 CFW without any dongle. however, making sense of b) based on c) is a little over my head and i hope some developer will step in. in any case until now we haven't been in position where we have plain text and how it looks encrypted with TB DRM encryption.

NEWS UPDATE #2:

The E3 Team noticed the comments in the forums about 'Fifa Street' having lockup issues, mainly with the 'World Tour' option, as such they released this morning a FIX that basically adds the missing SPRX file that was also needed to be patched for the game to work on v3.55 CFW.

For those users still having problems, make the SPRX file gets overwritten in this directory on your HDD containing the 'Fifa Street' game:

PS3_GAME/USR_DIR/dlc/dlc_FootballCompEng/dlc/FootballCompEng/

Finally, some users might have to 'Rebuild the Database' via the PS3 Recovery Menu, if their PS3 has cached the wrong ver. code from the previously unpatched SPRX file!

The E3 Team are also sorry for all the inconveniences regarding this issue.

I have myself ps3 slim with 3.41 and e3 card reader with dual payload hermes4b+kakaroto , and use it because it does not require to have disc in bd-drive(DISC_LESS_MODE).


Now I wont to make statement to E3 TEAM.

E3 Team I really believe in you, something deep inside tells me that things which you are prepared for us and further do are really exciting.
PS3 scene to my opinion requires new CFW and it has to be CFW4.11. Take your time and make research on 4.11 PUP.

I will use your product but here what I want it to be like:

1.Create your product to work in “DISC_LESS_MODE”---Without game disc in BD-Drive—I want my ps3 to have working laser. I know that game disc is legal which is inside, but still I want my ps3s BD-Drive to not wear out---in other words to be alive and in working condition all the time---”DISC_LESS_MODE”; “Hello Hermes...”
2.If it is possible--- then create CFW4.11 . I think that PS3_Scene has to move forward. FW3.41 and 3.55 are good ones but we need to move forward because time goes by and things also have to change at least somehow along with it. You have keys for all firmwares—Nice. So what holds us from using CFW4.11 then?
3.Make possible for all games that worked on 3.41 and 3.55 also to be playable on CFW4.11 without any changes to them.
4.Make it possible to install UBUNTU_LINUX on PS3. I want my ps3 to have ability to work as Computer. FW3.15 had possibility to run Linux . I want you to restore such ability in CFW4.11.
Probably create some Homebrew (Analog “PETITBOOT) which will launch UBUNTU from XMB.
In any way I want Linux on my PS3.
5.Stay on the market for more than 5 years—because I do not want to buy dongle every year.

He didn't say you change the eboot. You change the Param.SFO file... Software to edit it has been posted on the main page a few times.

I wonder what gayopa's involvement with E3 is, considering all their videos has his site name on them and he is in direct contact with them... Is he part of them? Is he getting paid by them? *shrugs* just another greedy person.

You know I understand you and at the same time I don't understand you LOL. I see what you are saying that they should charge for things that is DRM and there isn't no significance meaning behind them. But you work 40hours a week I am assuming and I work 40 hours a week. Also I think Gary is the head admin over at cruch so either way he is still getting paid for the advertisements off of his site. Same thing goes to DASPSX (if I got that right) he is the head guy over at this site to he still getting paid from advertisements. Anyways its really optional if people dont want to pay for it then that is fine nobody is forcing anyone to pay for anything it's all optional. If people want to pay for a DRM device to play newer games for god sakes let them.

No matter how you look at it. Nobody is being open sourced anymore. At times I think that TB/E3/Cobra are unnecessary because E3 yesterday just proved that there is nothing significant about TB updates but just security ones but no what I cant say anything because it's just WAREZ. Quite frankly its just pirated material that they found a way to make. I cant judge them if they put a price tag on it. Hell after all I didn't make it I didn't do the code and neither did you. If you didnt make shit you cant really tell someone else who made something how to market their product just gotta deal with it or just buy your games legit (Like I do) I mean I haven't pirated nothing in a while but I'll pirate a game or 2 if TB have the patch and I don't need it for online hell I may pirate Dragons Doomaga dunno yet "shrugs" this is the PS3 scene is all about just pirating video games (nothing more nothing less) you seen the news lately Dongle here and dongle there.
