DeadlyFoez is right, paypal is scum which is why I hesitantly sell on ebay. Lets just say SKFU gets atleast 2000 in donations. Paypal would freeze his account and do an investigation on it to see why is he receiving a large lump-some of money.

Moral of the story avoid paypal of all costs as a seller or trying to receive donations. Paypal is only good for buying things.

On Topic: Seems legit been thinking twice about buying a vita lately I might buy one for 180 off of Craigslist but not really sure yet. But I hate to say this but 95% wont donate to him. Sad but true.

This is a good thing however. It shows that there are some control about who's recieving what. Paypal has rules about whats allowed or not, and people shouldnt put up donation stuff if they are in doubt if it crashes with Paypal's rules.

You really have no idea. When there is no reason for paypal to freeze an account, nothing dodgy about it at all, paypal will freeze the account. They will freeze it for a set time, which is a few months. They do this so you can't spend any of the money or take it out of the account, so they then profit from the interest for about three months. They do this to a lot of accounts all the time, which adds up to quite a bit of interest.

Frankly I'd rather send the man a money order than put cash into a paypal account for him.

But what you explain here is something different than what i said though. I dont think many disagree with that it sucks if someone gets their account locked for no reason. What i said is that it is good that there is a system in place that freezes the funds if there are doubts about dodgy things going on, and then they do an investigation. And if they see that all is ok, then they unlock the account.

I see. If this specific donation (PS Vita devkit) is against Paypal's donation policy, at least that thing is clear.

Does the Paypal donation work like an escrow by the way? That the money is held until the full donation amout is met.
