What what I really find funny that people BLINDLY DON'T REALIZE True Blue are STILL the only ones that know how to crack the games so all the leaching is for nothing really....

If they KNEW how to crack the games themselves then maybe I'll give them credit but TB can just up and leave and all those clones would be "useless" in the next couple months and no more games forever so nice work it's only a matter of time the secret gets out and Sony patch this forever and I can hear all the fanboys screaming that the PS3 scene is dead because of their free solution.

I'd be more interested in a hybrid firmware with support for Cobra features, True Blue Features and Rebug features so people don't have to swap firmwares to use different dongles. Personally don't care if the TB or Cobra is cracked, just looking for easier use and swapping. Already got original TB and only thing keeping me from buying a Cobra is don't want to constantly swap firmwares. Rebug has been at a stand still as far as TB Rebug firmware is concerned since the kill switch has been added.

I think that instead of letting people clone the TB discs, they should just release the eboot patches instead if they truly have it figured out. A lot of people don't own BluRay burners and you'd just end up having to still buy the discs from someone else. Kinda defeats the purpose

I'll say this about the clone wars. I'm glad I got an original. It means that when (notice I didn't say if) TB and PARADOX update again to not let the clones play the newest games, I'll still be able to play. These clones mean nothing unless they can patch the games themselves

TB Blocks JBK not once, but twice... JBK finds a way to validate the new 2.5 eboots proving theres more than one way to skin a cat, dispite the hardware difrences.. Thats Cool... so maybe they'll always beable to get around the upgrades.. I personally dont care cuase I Think EVERYORE should be playn all the new games, on a TB Budget (pricy) or JBK Budget (fair) Someday (free) after all we are all some shade of GRAY..

But 4real JBK should atlease release eboots(if they can?).. Cause Originalty is everything, and right now there riding another teams back, and making it hard on the rest of us.. atlease if they made there own eboot TB wouldnt stop the flow of theres to play the cat and mouse game... and maybe even TBr's could benfit from th JBK eboots.. JBking claims they can make their own eboots that will only work with their dongle. I'd like to see them prove it by releasing a patch for a game that TB hasn't fixed yet. Until they do they'll just be like that cheap imitation crab meat.

If TB held off on putting out new eboots to make new firmware for the dongle to prevent piracy of the thing then they would be, in fact, no better than sony putting out new firmware over and over with no new features.

im sure that a team like paradox (been around for seemingly ever) would have no problem making the patches and no problem preventing them from using them. its paradox dude. they are pretty much leet

The thing that has me now curious and hoping TB would include in their firmware is the ability to copy and duplicate a TB disc. Seems like JB King is able to now do this? Nice?

The problem is that when the first jailbreak dongle came out, it was required in order to run the payload, so just like a modchip it was necessary to buy one to hack the console, and so the cost is more just.

But these new dongles are just drm, they have no real need apart from the company selling them wanting to make more money from you. now if TB required the dongle to run the exploit without the current drm then the cost of buying it would make the act of buying it more reasonable. But since it doesnt and the drm is there to force you to buy the dongle then that isnt right, you might as well give your money to $ony and buy the original games instead!

Now riddle me this: the makers of Freestyle dash, the makers of the glitch images, and the makers of all the new homebrew for the 360, which are all infinitely more involved than the PS3, do not FORCE their users to give them money for homebrew...why do these daft cunts force us to buy their shitty dongles to use backups? I mean shit, making a dashboard from the ground up, building a dozen or so plugins so we can have all kinds of functionality we never dreamed of, and constantly releasing updates, for FREE, has to be a LOT more difficult than what is being done here.

So when it comes down to it, there's about three PS3 exclusives worth playing (which are just about all playable on 3.55), and the homebrew is a far cry from what we have on the 360...and ALL 360s can be glitched. Even if there were games I was really looking forward to playing, I would buy a second PS3 and the game before I would ever pay these people. They are ruining the whole point of homebrew, and letting the PS3 community stagnate.

I haven't turned on my PS3 in 5 months.

And a lot of the hard stuff was figured out for the XBox first and just brought to the 360. The reason the XBox was further along than the PS2 was the XBox had an internal hard drive and most PS2's didn't. A lot of the devs that worked on the first XBox kept working on the 360. Simple as that. I can keep going if you like, but I think you see the point

I agree on on most you say, except from the part I put in bold. The hacking scene has one basic principle: "Information wants to be Free". It was never about the money.

A few years ago, Hackers remained anonymous and underground. They didn't make FB and Twitter profiles and make big shot statements/announcements. They didn't hack stuff just because they hoped that they could get a job that way. They weren't desperate for e-fame. And certainly they weren't in it for the money. They broke a system's DRM without replacing it with their own.

They just released stuff under a nick. They were real hackers... Not wannabes.

First of all Piracy's illegal enough. But making money out of it? Then you are beginning to annoy the big boys.

I hear you. I'm a little older than you may think I am and am very familiar with how it was done "back in the day". All I was trying to say about that part is there's people that do it for the love of the project, dumb-asses that do it for fame and end up getting sued, then people who do it for the money. Bottom line is they figured something out and no matter whether anyone calls it swapping one drm for another it took work and skills to pull it off. Isn't it entirely reasonable that these people aren't gamers and couldn't care less about these new games but were just able to pull it off and decided to collect a check because they have no entertainment interest in it?

And back in the day what was there really to hack and make some money off of? a calculator? DRM didn't really exist until fairly recently. Anybody remember those annoying code books to prove you actually owned the games. "What is the 4th letter of the 5th word on the 12th line of page 72?" That was defeated with a copy machine or someone who manually typed it out into a txt file. I find it hard to believe that the old school sceners put in today's context wouldn't see people making money grabs just like people complain about these guys doing.

This nostalgia for the way it used to be, I think, is a little misguided. Human nature is to get paid. Back then there wasn't much to get paid off of so you didn't see this kind of thing. Now there is, so here you go
