  • mmCM v04.01.04 FULL -multiMAN Improved and Optimized

Today, the Cobra-USB team have released the latest multiMAN, which was originally created by deank. mmCM or multiMAN Cobra Manager now has a FULL update that allows you to update to the latest edition from any previous version. Also, version 04.01.04 brins lots of new improvements, as well as optimizing the multipurpose tool.

    Changelog since version 04.01.03:
    Code:
    * Improved FTP transfer speed even more

    * Improved FTP compatibility with certain clients (wininet)

    * Improved "Game list (4x2)" display mode

    * Improved "Game list (poster)" display mode

    * Improved overall speed and stability and fixed some GUI glitches

    * Optimized memory usage (10MB more RAM available for operations)

    * Optimized caching procedure for game icons and backgrounds (ICON0/PIC1.PNG) - faster and less HDD space used

    * Added "Group Titles by Genre" option in the SIDE menu and changed the function of [SQUARE] button: now opens "Game Settings" menu.
It should be noted that mmCM is compatible with JB or CFW PS3 consoles without the dongle; expect, that not all the features are available such as PS1/PS2/DVD/BRD support

Thanks for another release (yet again). Hey deank are you personally working on incorporating Cobra or TB payloads into some sort of CFW?

Please don't turn this into another pro/anti TB thread. If you want to flame some people go into the forums on CSI: Miami. Or just put time into finding and taking down David Caruso.

Looks like they(DeanK) disabled the L1 trigger for the return from XMMB to the Locked Default Display.

Edit: Does seem alot more optimized. Quicker access to features(mp3's, showtime - play, pics).

Yay...thats a nice version till far, though all worked fine too for me.....hoping for some additional features from Deank in his next update.

Also, please help me on this, I'm stuck.
I've got DLC Da Vinci Edition for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood from a torrent site. It consists of two .pkg files, but no instructions at all. The two files are: zfrcoYGIItZZPjVZrNuCHzJtlIJBzLpFmQvVEBMAXxQGLMadbi dDmxQitVbgPMTf(1.62gb) and
      BLES00909_AC2_DV_DLC_FIX(100kb)

Now Having Assassin's Creed Brotherhood(BLES00909), I have installed these two packages, but when i start the game, it is asking me to go online and update the title.
Am confused as there's already a fix pkg and even if I have to update the title online, I' afraid of getting caught by $ony.

So what should I do to successfully play the DLC??? please help...
If someone needs, I can provide the link to torrent.

@daniyal, you should load this game with your PS3 being offline from the internet. Or you need to spoof your PS3 so it thinks it's using the latest version. I also read that Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood requires you to update to 2.03 update patch in order to play the DLC. So look for that first and then try again.

I updated MM online via PS3. I am just testing the other displays (my favorite one is 2x4). I wanted to report that the Box-art display is only showing the game cover, not the rest of the images it used to and neither the game's background image. Anyone else with this issue?

I am momentarily downloading the full install from sendspace, it's taking a freaking hour. So I will report later if the same issue still exists for that display.

Box-art mode is currently under construction. It will be either rewritten or replaced with another type of display mode. It was slow as hell and probably no one used it.

      I found another issue:

In File Manager, some images are not able to be viewed anymore. If you go to the img folder in multiMAN and if you have any images that have been compressed (reduced) they will not appear, something that used to work--since I always use the same theme. I also spotted other images that won't work anymore, that it used to support. Weird!

Also when I load another theme, it seems it doesn't replace certain images. One is the XMB1.PNG--even though the theme has it's own?

so far the images are not replaced anymore:

      ICON0.PNG
      PICBG.JPG
      XMB1.PNG

there might be more, but those are the ones I was able to spot. It seems that when there is no image background for a game, it will try to fetch XMB1.PNG--not entirely sure. Or an old image that is stuck in the cache folder--because it points to a very old theme I once used.

i had noticed the same issue as jay in the last update (or one before it) hadnt got round to reporting it before someone else already had beaten me to it and to be honest I'd kinda forgot about it (I hardly ever use that view)

It, did for some reason also act up a little bit just now when trying to update
(I'm going to just put it down to my internet connection although its running fine on both laptops)
anyway - mm loaded up, showtime out of date, new mm available... etc,
went to update showtime first and said no connection - did that about 5 times, then found the connection, new version - tried to download it then error'd out on me.
then said no showtime installed - did you want to.... etc, yes again, took about 5 attempts until it eventually got there and then did the same with the mm update (not the error bit in between though of course)
As I say, I'm just going to put it down to connection and not a big deal, just for a second thought that something was going to go horribly wrong, lol

      Daniyal :

I've heard around a few places that although the animus updates and copernicus missions work fine the only way to get da vinci dlc to function correctly is via reactpsn - not tried that method yet but can confirm that I couldnt get it working via 'normal' methods and have all the rest running fine

      XMB0.PNG becomes PIC0.PNG under BLES80608 and XMB1.PNG becomes PIC1.PNG, both work.

About the images you can't view anymore - the support for interlaced and other 'incompatible' images is removed, because they're causing severe problems (30MB of ram disappear when you open such incompatible image in previous versions). Loosing 30MB of ram because of incompatible theme image or other photo may completely break other functions like copying files/folders and other standard features. In case you have motion background enabled (which costs about 30-40MB RAM) and when you open such incompatible image/theme the PS3 runs out of memory and may crash the whole app or cause other side effects, which users consider bugs. That's not going to happen anymore.

OKay Thanx Jay-Jay and sketchdesigner for your kind help.
I have updated the title online to version 2.03. Now it is working fine.
Please tell how to spoof my ps3 and how to install reactpsn.
I'm on kmeaw 3.55, using the latest mmCM(downloaded today from this thread only), 120gb slim.

      XMB0.PNG - becomes PIC0.PNG (works correctly)

I just re-tested with Aero 3.0 theme, with Media Cabinet (StarWars Edition) and with some other themes - and all is like it should be. I don't know what is your issue.

      Thanks deank,

I think I got PCBG.JPG from The Media Cabinet (SW) that multiMAN has online for download for themes. I think you are using a very old update of this theme. I recently updated this theme for all the new displays, so it works well for mmCM 4.01 The update can be found here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f192/mul...packer-100165/ (multiMAN Cobra Manager (mmCM) Theme Packer)

You are right about the other images, I was looking in the wrong directory. I forgot that they get put in another folder within multiMAN's directory.

Was XMB0.PNG brought back? I thought this wasn't used anymore?

But for the games that don't have a background image, it fetches an old one from the cache folder. Seems it doesn't automatically replace this image. I think it's suppose to replace it with the current theme image of either XMB1.PNG / PIC1.PNG--but it seems it doesn't do this. I plan to delete the cache images so I start new again.

And also, the issue with File Manger not being able to view certain images (PNG or JPG) if the images are either a certain size or have been compressed. It just shows a dark screen, but I know it used to work before in File Manager. I wonder if this is a bug?

@Daniyal, I would love to help, but I think you are now asking something that is way off-topic in this topic. Kindly start a new topic addressing this issues, so I or others can assist you. Since these two subjects have nothing to do with multiMAN anymore (unless you are using Cobra and the spoof feature built-in mmCM)

yeah, I helped you with the DLC issue, which was also off-topic, but now you are asking for more... lol

      Update:

Cleared the cache folder, but it still does the same thing with games that don't have background images. It will fetch whatever the previous theme had, and it ignores whatever the current theme has for that background.

I am testing the Game List Poster display mode.. this is where I see this problem occurring.

I don't know why, but I'm having no privileges to start a new thread, that's why I had to start it within the thread. Sorry for being off-topic. But I suppose I'm done here. Thanks to Deank and Cobra Team for mmCM and you guys here at scene for help.

I think your problem is that you are trying to create a topic in sub-forums that even I can't start a topic in (requires special privileges and etc). This forum is broken up in several sub-forums that cater to certain subjects. I think if you post a topic here, you will be fine: http://psx-scene.com/forums/ps3-general-discussion/

Keep in mind that they are sections that only moderators and admins can start a new topic, but the rest should be fine.

      @deank,

Try this theme: Twilight by Jay-Jay.

Now go to the xbox display. You will notice that the background image of XBDBG.JPG isn't displayed anymore--it used to, at least when I created this theme. Now go to File Manager and go inside the img folder in multiMAN and look it up. File Manager will not display it anymore.

And this is not only theme relates issues, some pictures just don't show up anymore in File Manager--and I believe they are within those limits you listed above. I don't know how to make a JPG progressive, but I'll look it up.

      Another bug:

I noticed a glitch when I change displays and I return to Game List Poster, I see a white tables (frames) and then it disappears within a few seconds. It doesn't happen each time you fall back to this display, but it does occur every once in a while. Try pressing R1 and slowly switch displays (make a full cycle) until you reach this one again, that's when it usually happens.

      Hi Dean,

      I had some thoughts yesterday:

I tried to install your 17968 bytes cute linux32 binary on my linux32-atom-nas sadly the prompt returned leafing:
      * version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by ./ps3netsrv)
on my screen. No source code for recompile?
Do you think there is a way to include this library? (like PMS includes vlc)

      next
When I made a ISO to usb-fat32 got splitted ISO's oke. Then I putted those in ps3netsrv oke no errors there. but mmCM could n`t rejoin them. and I got some error. The bigger ISO's work just fine.

      next
I saw some work on the categories cool.
      my thought was:
I'm getting a lot of 80010017 errors and would like to be notified before MM loads the disk. Why not ... make categories for lowest playable firmware. I guess looking in to mysql-lite. But I've to say, I've totally no idea what database Multieman uses.

I thank you for your support.

Read again my previous message: "* Progressive JPG images are not supported". Usually Photoshop creates progressive in some cases and it has to be avoided. It doesn't matter if it is a theme image, file manager loaded image or anything else - all use the same routine and it won't work if images don't comply with the specs above.
