    Reading over at the PS3 blog a recent post indicates the release of yet another firmware update for the PlayStation 3. This update seems to address "aspects of system software" and since it's not mandatory one could assume it's PS Vita related, but without a changelog one cannot be certain. Drum roll for anonymous to release the debug version LOL.


    To Quote:
    Later tonight we’ll be releasing an optional system software update (v4.11) for PlayStation 3. This minor firmware improves certain aspects of system software, and is not mandatory to connect to PSN.

    Again, this update is optional in the US and Canada, and can be downloaded by selecting System Update from the Setting column of the XMB.

      These updates make me real sad for some reason... How long has it been since 3.55 CFW is useless in order to play new games ? One year ? A whole, ****ing year...Oh, God, I'm pissed...

      This is my first post (reading the news daily when it's possible for me since 3.55 CFW came out) but comments like your's make _ME_ pissed!

      Sign. every Day my Hope dies a little :P I am realy sad. Nothing goes on. Diablo III will Never come or maybe in Sommer. Anyway my two ps3 are turned Off for over 10 months now.

      well then either go official 4 PSN, buy TB 4 new crap multiplatforms or develop CFW 3.6+ so u can stop cryin like a girl

      @Mrox2 - at least someone's got a sense of humor. Everyone else getting upset over nothing. System updates are never going to go away until Sony stops supporting the PS3 because the PS4/PS5 is out

      As for the others, you act like you know everything that this update fixes or improves, completely jumping the gun when you have no knowledge of what is actually going on. I agree with the guy calling that one guy a scumbag, the so called scumbag makes no sense.

      And to the guy who sold his PS3 because the scene is dead... the PS3 was not made for this "scene", it was made to play games. So you sold your PS3 because?.... I call B.S.

      Today, there is only one fix for the update system, and that's to have one PS3 connected to PSN, and one with a Jailbreak or CFW.

      But why all of the 4-year old whining about an optional update?

      lol I don't see a point in ever front paging the garbage ofw updates. No one on here even is on ofw. And if they are? Then they are certainly on the wrong forum. :P Who in their right mind would care about ofw? lol Honestly. It's a waste of space. Forever useless. And will always be. Unless your a "legit" ps3 user then ya maybe you'd want to know whats new in each update. But 90% of people on here are not.

      All jokes aside there are many people on here with 2 consoles - 1 custom firmware and 1 official firmware. Aside from the obvious reason people on official firmware should know about them is that for people on custom firmware it means that their spoofer is outdated and with the updates above 4.00 you can no longer recover or create a psn account to get reactpsn to work. These announcements are not "forever useless". People just can't seem to look past their own concerns or needs.

      it said it optional u don't need to update to sign in on psn so the spoof will still work
      and stop whining don't read it if u don't care
